I've recently purchased a 2004 Toyota Sequoia SR5 2WD. It has low miles, runs and rides super smooth. There are a couple of minor repairs and upgrades I am going to make; in fact I've already started.

Today I have a question about the factory radio. My Sequoia has the JBL speaker system, including the amp. There are two wiring harnesses in the back of the factory radio, and two other cables. What are these for? One of them is for the radio antenna. What is the other? I've seen it called Sub Antenna, Power Antenna, and other things in the various online sources I've searched.

Can someone recommend a good aftermarket head unit? I am looking for Apple CarPlay, a backup camera, CD player, and moderately easy installation, and I want to stay under $300.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello I have the same car that you do
for a while I was running a Bluetooth cigarette lighter adapter through the radio through the speakers however, my speakers are blown. so I use a JBL party box haha anyways I’m gonna get to the point that second wiring harness goes down in the center console. There’s a JBL amplifier in there that amplifies the sound to your speakers and tweezers and subs

if I was you leave the harness, leave the amp replace the speakers replace the tweeters replace the stereo! Any double din will fit. I’m going with one of those 13 inch screens like a Tesla.

You’re not gonna find a decent namebrand head unit for $300. It’s just not gonna happen unless it’s used or stolen or both eBay has some really good deals on radios and on speakers and on wiring harness you can either buy from Chinese seller or you can buy from somebody here in the United States whatever you want the sky is the limit.

Care to share a picture of what it looks like. There are normally 2 - 20 pin and 1 - 10 pin for a 2004.
