I’d like to install a 12vdc fan in my capped bed. Would need a live (not switched) 12v feed.
My searches came up short, likely me. My Leer cap has 3rd brake light but pretty certain not a live feed but will check. Current thinking is to mount near cab, but that could change.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thinking of a fan with either remote or even iphone controlled. Haven’t found one yet

Might be easier to go with a makita or Milwaukee cordless fan

I just bought a 140 mm 12V fan to put on a dog crate. I wired a cigarette adapter so it can be used in the truck while driving or plug into a lithium iron battery I use to run my telescope. Even though the fan is supposed to work at 13.8 VDC, it didn't work at 13.6. I had to add a 5 ohm resistor in series to bring the voltage down to 12 volts for reliable operation.
So, beware that some of these brushless fans were designed at computer cooling fans where the power supply put out very close to 12 volts and they may not operate properly at the voltage our trucks produce while running. If you intend on running the fan only while the truck is off you should be good voltage wise. Now, the 1 amp draw is another story.

I bought this https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09XMWSN1D?th=1 three years ago for fly in fishing trips. Lasts around 3 days on low, super quiet, used as a charger, has a hangar, use the things every day. Honestly couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Considered this as well for the truck bed portion of my Go Fast. Wiring a cigarette outlet from the battery or something similar was best I could come up with, like a dometic DC hardwire style to simultaneously power the Dometic in the back.

…Ended up with USB rechargeable fans for the truck when my dogs were in there and a portable battery to run the dometic on solar.

If you feel up to cutting a hole in your cap; get a maxxair fan. I got one that sucks and blows and electric hood deployment. Like @Retired...finally said, some of these don’t like a voltage variation. I got a buck boost controller that you can dial in your voltage
