Got a thought when I was thumbing thought Tundra photos. Does the gen 3 Tundra deserve to have the i-Force name as it's name came with the first V8. Or am I just overthinking Toyota's ideas

I’d say so. 3rd gen engine has more power and is more suited for truck purposes as this engine makes more power lower in the rpm band than the V8

Has this been asked before......on the hybrids. If you remove the Hybrid part. Does it make the same power as a non hybrid?

It should. It's the same engine in both, but I'm not sure to what extent things are changed to make the hybrid work with it.

If you were to literally take the hybrid components off it wouldn't run at all, is my guess.

i-FORCE has been around since 2000. It was introduced on the 4.7L V8, the 2UZ-FE. The "i" stands for Intelligence referring to VVTi (Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence).

So yes, Toyota has pretty much always used it on their truck and SUV engines.
