It's been a month I figured I could give this some time to generate some comments. I now have 2,500 miles on my Tundra and the 1-2 shift issue is still there. I go in for service soon and will have them look at it. Thanks for the comments

Any chance of you being more detailed? What's happening? Truck warm/cold? any other info...?

I'm guessing it's low on fluid. I had the same thing on our 16 Tacoma, hard shift from 1st to 2nd when cold. I did the trans level check myself and it was 1 1/2 qts low from the factory, topped it off and it was much smoother. My Sequoia does the same, gonna do a check once the rain stops for more than a day.

The very first 1-2 shift of the day always hangs up for me. Engine revs up for a split second and then it shifts into second. Causes me to lean towards the steering wheel before it shifts into second. After that its usually okay. I would have to leave my truck overnight at the dealer to duplicate and cant really do that anytime soon.

I also get a harsh downshift on the hwy unless the transmission is 100% at normal operating temp. I have a feeling I am a bit low on fluid. Dealer would probably say Cannot duplicate or normal I am sure.

Edit: I also always park on an incline and wonder if that has something to do with it.
