Does the OEM remote start leave the truck running indefinitely? Our Kia remote start will only run for 10 minutes, which in our Canadian winter is next to useless, but even worse it's dangerous in the summer with our dog in the car. Cancelled that "feature" awhile ago and will install an aftermarket.

If I use the app, the truck will shut off. If I use the 2 way fob, it stays on. I think if I use the oem fob itll also stay on, but I dont/cant use it when Im inside the house...range is piss poor, always has been. 2 way confirms the command, so I know it fired up...plus I car hear my lovely exhaust :)

why would you use remote start with the dog in the truck? wouldn't you just leave it running and turn off the auto off in a hour?

I wouldn't want one to run indefinitely, like until it runs out of gas?

I think you can cycle twice 10-15 mins each on the OEM one

Doesn't happen often, but occasionally you just run into a store / bank expecting to only be a minute but end up in a painfully long line. Car will run a long time at idle. Used to work up north on the oil rigs and we would just let our work trucks run 24 hours a day, pretty much had to at -55C. Since it's a Toyota forum, to stay on topic, I once let my 1982 Toyota pickup run for 3 days due to the extreme cold. And since it had a good old fashioned key, you could just lock the door with your spare key.

I pay the $15/month, and it doesn't bother me at all the service costs. However, what does bother me is the forced $15 for a "bundled" service. I'm sorry, but if you cannot get the service by itself, then it isn't a "bundle" to me. I only need the remote service, not the drive or music services we have to include. I choose the Drive feature in case the phone goes screwy I can still get navigation (which probably shouldn't cost anyway...but that's a different discussion).

Toyota has their eye off the ball. They should be calling ME and checking in with my overall satisfaction with my 1997 T-100 that I bought new and is still in the driveway as a daily driver. I won't even ask for a new truck as a reward for my loyalty.

YES. That is an ashtray (and cigarette lighter hidden behind the shifter handle).

Nope, all we are saying is that Toyota seems to be joining the others in a race for the bottom in terms of customer service and initial quality. If they are not careful they will over time risk losing the characteristics that brought us here in the first place.

I would add if toyota quality keeps slipping that theres no real reason to buy a tundra. The big three have more features at the same prices

You can leave it running and lock it with the physical key in the door. You just need to unlock it with the key as well.

small sample size but this truck doesnt seem any different than any of my other 5 tundras

when I tested them all , there were plenty of reasons to buy a tundra over the others.

I just think if toyota keeps getting bottom feeder ratings on reviews concerning quality then the point of buying a tundra becomes moot. Quality was reason number one i bought a toyota instead of a ram or denali

fiar point, it won't help for sure.

the most recent one was mainly due to the infotainment I guess from reading the article, not really sure I see that.

but with the turbo faiasco at launch, and then this bearing BS, it certainly isnt helping.

but at least for me, I still liked the truck better than the GMC AT 4 refresh 6.2 and the Ford powerboost I tested, otherwise I would have bought one of those, just like when I liked the 2013 Ram better at that time, I bought that.

    good, glad to hear.

you really should call another dealer or a few more dealers, I got my new brakes ordered and installed in a few weeks, something is a miss with your dealer.

Gulf states toyota is a sucking hellhole. Up north its not a big deal my dealer said the guy before me took 8 months. Its absurd that dif parts of country get warranty parts quicker. Called Toyota directly they said basically they get there when they get there

    geez, lame.

different dealers used to get parts faster or slower depending on their performance, etc, not sure if thats still the case but it may be worth calling a few others.
