Thats good to know you are running the same setup im curious about. I might have to try some kings on the front and see how I like it. Seems like fox and icon are off my list as well for our trucks.

High beams and fog lights still working as expected? :D

    Side note here, though.

While you're technically correct on the point about turning with 4WD engaged and wheels spinning at different speeds and, yes, it's generally not advised to engage 4WD on asphalt or concrete, if running in 4HI, (1) the road doesn't need to be perfectly straight to operate without binding and (2) LSD does allow for a moderate amount of wheel slippage to occur out back, at least. I typically tell people to "find a straight stretch of road before engaging" and to disengage before any significant turns, but I'd have no qualm moving the steering wheel within 30 minutes of "high noon" on the steering wheel while in 4HI while at-speed.

Really, the most radical popping is going to come from the wheels that pivot, i.e. front wheels, and primarily while at extremly low speeds while on a non-giving surface (asphalt, concrete), but it's generally safe to drive in 4HI in the 2000-2006 Tundra, at highway speeds, on straight stretches of highway. And in the 2000-2007 Sequoia, it's safe to run in 4HI all the time.

Are they welded to your bumper?

Yes they are because there is that cross tube that was welded to my frame as the main support for my custom rear bumper. So it made it easy for me to weld the hanger tubes to the cross tube and still keep my spare in the stock location.

Edit: But it seems if you did want to do the same, and keep your spare in the stock location, you could just weld a similar cross tube across the frame to tie into. All the other crosstube options ive seen for the hangers require removing the spare tire.

What's really fun is when you accidentally hit 4wd in a parking spot, then crank the wheel hard over to back out. On concrete. Not that I did that or anything....

Ah so the bumper was permanent even before the those cross tubes.

already have a plan for the spare and it won’t be in the stock location. Starting tire swing out build shortly.

Yes exactly, already had that cross tube in place for my particular setup.

Thats awesome, cant wait to see pics of the progress of your swing out!

My goal is to create and design a cost effective swing out. Going to keep detailed measurements/build directions to share with everyone so they can use it to build their own. So far all materials has cost me $200.

I did it. I was driving around after a rainstorm, and pulled into a covered area of dry concrete. After the second or third pop I realized what was happening and disengaged. I admit it, I’m dumbass.

Trying out some Perry parts bump stops, for under a $100 I thought it was worth a shot. I went with the larger of the two options.

That’s good to know. They seem like a good product but I don’t hear about a lot of people running them

I dont either, but theres some reputable guys on youtube that have recommended them and seeing his ideas behind the design of these does make alot of sense and makes them quite unique from other bumpstops. Plus the price is hard to beat

Really starting to get somewhere with my truck, most recently installed rock lights. started bone stock in february 2025 now i have the bilstein 5100, 1.5 inch add a leaf completely new JL/Rockford sound system. fit 20x12 fuel kranks wrapped on LT305/55r20 toyo open country a/t with no rubbing(had to trim bumper very slightly and hammer pinch welds a small bit) along with the recent addition of rock lights and head lights. Next, i’m planning on doing a winch bumper, replacing OEM taillights (couldn’t really find anything aftermarket that i think would look good. open to suggestions) and learning to repaint and re apply clear coat, and after that i will be getting a more complete lift kit, not just the coilovers.
