I pulled the suspension off my 500 and sent it off for service and some adjustments. Going to be doing a bunch of cleanup and maintenance while I'm waiting to get it back.

Decal works! Was my first time installing graphics and it was easy to do with a heat gun. It has a grippy texture to it as well. Expensive, but was a fun upgrade.

That's definitely a good deal. I just sold my 2018 TE300 a few weeks ago for $800 more than that, guy didn't even try to haggle with me on the price.

I think that it's a good price too.

The fuel injection has me a little concerned. Looks like an aftermarket control system makes them work as advertised.

I should probably toss a leg over another 2smoke.

We won't live here forever, so the high elevation isn't going to be a huge factor. Living on the east coast does draw more 2smokes.

I use MotoPro HQ wheel chocks snapped in to floor mounted E track in my trailer. Once my kids get older and the bike sizes will be consistent I will probably go with the Risk Racing Lock-N-Load Pros. Right now the bike sizes are changing so the bike placement in the trailer changes.
Show us whatcha got for tie downs!

im a basic bitch with my tie downs but i do use loops around the bars. I use the sliding tie down points on the tundra as a wheel chock.

Went and looked at a few dirt bikes today.

    First one was a 2008 YZ250F

This bike was not rode hard and did a lot more sitting than riding. However, it still is a 17 year old bike. Yamaha had hot start issues back in those years and some racers experienced transmission failures. Now my daughter is a beginner and doubt she would ever ride this bike to it's potential. She did not ride this one. After seeing her dad ripping on it, at that moment she knew it wasn't for her. Looking at the shock/forks that needed to be serviced, Spark arrestor tip, carb had some float issues (probably varnish), and who knows how the valve gap is.

    483109247_934340815447032_8153682383673023928_n.jpg

We then went to the other side of Denver on a Friday afternoon (dumbass) to look at something she liked a lot before....A 2021 KLX230.

    495785508_702717805472856_663228053604434208_n.jpg 491886212_1229158695267005_582499490443254282_n.jpg

My kid instantly loved it. She rode around on their property for a while and said "I'll take it!" She pulled out her wad of money and paid the man. He gave us the title and bill of sale.

So the search goes on for my bike. Riding the YZ250F answered all my questions about power and an adult rider. Still just makes me wonder about a 350/450. Never have too much power is not a true statement on a 450. Those bikes are gnarly.

I have looked and talked to this guy. He converted his CRF250F to a FX with the larger tank and 18" rear wheel. 494683571_10227452276952737_7346166778133675365_n.jpg 495694017_10227452276792733_7683419493354433496_n.jpg

This is a Works 450...and a built one. 8 hours on the motor.

    488602337_670241372361246_3221147872476967743_n.jpg 489375705_3858806034433530_4385550775951630752_n.jpg

Then I came across a 2022.5 FC450 Rockstar edition with 26 hours on it for under 5400

Riding this 22 y/o woods beater tomorrow. Tuned the carb and gave it some fresh oil today after it’s sat for 3 years. The full GYTR exhaust still sounds amazing. Should be a rip roarin time on the 5 valve :hattip:

I wish my grandkids would bug me to go riding, they just can't get off the electronics. I need to make more of an effort and this thread is getting my fire to ride going again.

So pumped your daughter found a bike she loves!

What kind of riding do you plan on doing for yourself? The two Hondas and the Husky all look great options for the track!

I'm 95% going to pick up a KX250F I found locally on Wednesday or Thursday. Some girl purchased it with her ex-bf and hasn't ridden it since (3 times).

    IMG_8002.jpg IMG_8003.jpg

This will eventually be my daughter's next bike.

She wants to do a lot of trail riding in the mountains first. I like the 717 trail system in Divide Colorado.

This must be his first time riding this trail section. He was going quite a bit slower than we all did. Most of the trail is whoops, water, some steep sections, etc. pretty easy trail system.

Eventually she will head out to my old stomping grounds after she completes a few MX classes.

Thunder Valley, IMI, Aztec were the main ones I would stick to.

Thunder valley is nice. It doesn't get all hard packed like the other two listed here.

    dont over think it.
$20 in straps and a chunk of wood is all you need. The straps with the clips on the hooks are best as they dont fall of when slack.

recently I’ve been doing tie downs from the forks diagonally across the bed. Then I do one ratchet strap pulling from the D-ring the front tire is up against to a footpeg to pull it forward. Negates the need for a fork brace since you’re not cranking it down as hard, but it’s one more strap and is best suited for the 5.5 ft bed. As long as you say “that’s not going anywhere”, it won’t!
