Howdy. I’m having a problem with my rear brakes over heating.

I don’t know the temp of them I didn’t have a temp gun at the time but it was hot enough it steamed water up

I also have a mean vibration when stopping from 40+

The breaks were just serviced got brand new rotors and pads.

    thanks.

Sounds like they're adjusted too tight and dragging. If they didnt use OEM drums i bet theyre out of round. I'd take them back and let them know what it's doing. Also, it's drums and shoes for the rear brakes.

Did they happen to replace the rear drums also?

If we had a dollar for every person on this forum who replaced their rotors and their drums with store brand parts, only to find the store brand parts were warped, straight out of the box, we'd be having a keg party right now.

You cannot trust aftermarket parts anymore. They're all utter shit. Nobody has had problems with rotor or drum warpage straight out of the box with OEM parts. They have had it repeatedly with store-brand and aftermarket parts. This was the last case on brakes.

@Olepeepaw, you're new here so you may be thinking I'm crazy. I'm not kidding. Like, in the past month, another victim here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-2335#post-3906725

Whatever shop you used to "fix" your brakes needs to resold this problem. They probably over-adjusted your brakes, and it sounds like the rotors they used are warped. Or, if they replaced the rotors and the drums, either the drums or rotors are warped. We see more cases of brand new drums being warped than rotors, but both happen. Doesn't seem to matter which brand you pick. Powerstop has a pretty good reputation, but honestly, OEM has never had an issue, and only cost 20-30% more than Powerstop's parts last I checked.
