First and foremost, I tried searching the forum but could not find what I was looking for; could only really find info on installing a different dash cam.

Question: Does anyone have experience completely removing the OEM dash cam, including the wiring?

The OEM dash cam just so happened to be in the truck I purchased a couple weeks ago and, while it seems to be of good quality, I would rather replace it with a front/rear dash cam setup like I have had in previous vehicles.

I figured I could remove the OEM one and potentially sell it to someone to recuperate some of the money spent on a new dual camera setup.

    What’s wrong with stock?
Should be fairly simple. Remove the overhead console and the cam plugs into a small wire plug/harness. Then peel the camera off the window. It’s stuck on with a type of two sided tape. I installed the camera myself after buying the truck. Should be just as easy to remove as it was to install.

Does the factory wiring in the headliner need to be removed if I plan on selling it to someone or does the wiring come in trucks that do not have the cam from the factory?

The wiring was there when I installed the camera. Just unplug the camera. It has a wire attached to it and plugs into the wiring harness that stays in the truck. The camera wire has a plug installed.
