What size tires? I can haul 4-5k lbs & my brakes are still adequate. But i have the wl’s & a raybestos MC. 3-4 years now?

my AC is pushing about DC weight with the tools, cap, and polo’s platform. leaky MC caused a heavy drag on the fronts. But since then, they’ve been fine. Got a sticky caliper now, but thats my fault for using a razor blade instead of a dingleberry. I’m trying really hard to keep my 16’s and not do the 14wa upgrade.

Brakes weren't really bad before, just noticeably better with the OEM shoes.

I've got 3 years in on my detroit rack so far. I bet I can get 10 out of it.

not driving like you do. Sure the tie rod ends take the brunt, but unless you’re limp wristing the steering wheel, the rack bushings, then the rack take that abuse.

I got a Dorman power steering air control valve that way for RA. And for about the same price (retail is almost $90).

It was fine, apparently a part some customer had bought, it had a sticker on it indicating it was waiting pickup by [whatever the customer name was] three or four years prior. It had plenty of shelf wear, looked like it'd been tossed around but the part was A-Ok.

when i bled my brakes i got 3/4 of a jar of bluegreen factory fluid, and before the cap, the rears were pretty much useless. I bet their original. From ‘02. Grandpa lives in pasadena,tx & never needs to (cant) go faster than 45. I bet my truck has lots of idle hours, but hasnt ever been driven by a woman.

Okay so I'm not crazy for thinking the rebound on these coilovers are not ideal. I will say every fox truck I've been in has really nice compression, but that rebound is atrocious on these trucks.

I just ordered a complete rack and pinion assembly from my local dealer for $628, and $65 per outer tie rod just about a week or 2 ago.

This was my mindset--had a shop just replace mine. They were originally going to order a reman cardone rack that costs MORE than an oem new directly from Toyota. It wasn't until I told them I checked toyotaparts website that I saw the price and they ended up going with the oem rack for me instead.

looks like the toyota.com/parts website crashed? I'm getting a 404 site not found error. Would be crazy if they got rid of this portal and just have everyone have to pick a specific dealer's site to look at prices for parts instead.

The rack doesn't come with bushings too does it? Hell if it did it would be worth it just for that I mean the bushings are like 40 bucks a piece by themselves. Or is energy suspension polyurethane bushings Superior to factory OEM I can't remember...

I don't buy Rough Country anything. It's almost all cheaply made Mainland China garbage, though a tiny few of their things are made in the USA. You get what you pay for.

I believe it comes with the one circled in green but not the one circled in red. I'm running the poly bushings now, going to try going back to OEM rubber.

Today the wife and I got over to a lady's property for mowing. We did about all we could as she lives in a bottom and some of her yard still has standing water.

Tundra started to spin when I tried to back up as the ground was very soft there due to the rain. 4Hi to the rescue! She came right out and I was able to get out of there. I kept her in 4wd for the 5 mile drive home as I know the manual suggests some 10 miles of 4wd use a month.

I tried BroHon's advice on what speed to disengage. I came out at 30 mph and it was less of a "thunk" but still a "thunk." It felt like I ran over some bump in the road.

Might be over kill but advice from these folks here years ago, once a month I exercise my Hi out on my 1/4 mile hardly traveled neighborhood street about 3 trips. Periodically I exercise LO on what use to be our par 5 4th hole instead of doing on asphalt.

So far I have no complaints on the Energy poly steering rack bushings.
    Paid $48 for em.
    Install wasn't too bad either.

The 4wd isn't meant to be engaged on dry pavement since the transfer case is fully locked/no center diff. Unless the road is perfectly straight there could be some level of drivetrains binding that gets released when 4wd is disengaged

I'm just trying to find the weak spots so I know what to upgrade. So far it's just the loose nut behind the wheel.
