With a duster, and everything one needs. Very NICE :)

They were a big deal from the 30s until the mid 70s if my memory of history serves. Then they came out with the kind that shoot straight out. Not sure what else they are called other than also switch blade.
Even though I make knives, I'm not really interested in making folders. That being said, yes, a gun thing. I can relate!!

I was going to say from the early forties to the late 60s, so I would have been close. I vaguely remember the talk back in the day what the cool thing was back in the 50s and 60s. HA!!! :)
I think in the early 60s there used to be what looked to be a switchblade but you push the button and a comb popped out.
Much simpler times back then and I think a lot of people were very naive long ago. :)

Yep, the switchblade comb was around for a looking time!! Can probably still get one. And yeah, much simpler times back then.

I have more knives than I should have, from KBar to Barlow, Bayonets too, I carry a folder always (Benchmade Adamas) and have a thing about keeping them razor sharp.

    FYI
An OTF Knife, also known as an out-the-front knife, sliding knife, telescoping knife, or angel blade, is a pocketknife with a blade that opens and closes through a hole in one end of the handle.

I’m relieved every time the USPS gets one to the destination! Have had a few issues through the years and they actually lost a knife once!
Looking forward to seeing you post some pics of your mushroom hunting adventures!

USPS here in Alamosa has been pretty good with deliveries so far. We are starting to get the afternoon thunderstorms. Hopefully that will continue thru the summer. Need that to happen for a decent mushroom season. You don't have a rain issue. Ha
