If I recall correctly a .RAR file is also a zipped type of file which will also need to be extracted.

Found the following below hope it helps....
    How to extract RAR files:
Windows: You can use third-party software like WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract RAR files.

Any tricks to getting it to communicate with the vehicle? I have the software loaded and working, purchased the mongoose cable (had to use the 64 bit driver I found online since the driver that comes with it only seems to be good for 32 bit machines). When I go to connect with the vehicle it says there is a problem with the VIM. Do I need to ignore the message that I only have 28 more attempts to connect?

Yeah ignore it since there is no internet, is basically offline. Or connect the laptop to the wifi internet and that will work as well.

Sometimes I wonder what’s wrong with people. Everyone once in a while you come across “that guy” but it sure seems like there are more out there than ever before.
I appreciated your effort and thanks for helping out.

I have something in the works that will be as good or even better and weed out the ones looking to take advantage of us. Stay put, news will come shortly as soon as I have everything setup.

    Looking forward to this info.

Ive been only marginally satisfied with all the different TS programs/vendors I've tried for the last 15 years.

They all work, but some require much more fucking around to make them even remotely considered " user friendly".

Is there any chance anybody has a download link for TechStream that hasn't yet been removed yet? Anything after v15 that will work with windows 11?

This is a virus, I have 3 different antiviral software programs, all 3 of which stopped this. I am not doing that.

Has anyone found anything that isn't a viruse or a scam? I've been scammed a few times on various online software/downloads. The MHH auto forum requires a code to register, which can only be retreived by emailing them. Heres what I got in response.

    This SCREAMS scam.

Really poor english is the first sign anywhere, things like this are only confirmation. I'm desperate, but I'm not stupid.

Before I received my copy with the help from Mr. Whicker, I had purchased a copy from a seller on EBay. It was cheap, about $10 and after the purchase he emailed my the key. I had bought a new laptop so required a new copy of Techstream.

The person I purchased it from no longer sells Techstream but maybe you can find another eBay seller.

Mr. Whicker has already sent me several malware files. I'm hoping a reasonable human being with good intentions will be able to help me out here.

You ever consider that it's not him actually TRYING to send you a virus? Good grief your begging for something free and throwing punches at the people who are helping you out.

It's possible that there could be a virus. But I'd wager he isn't the mastermind you claim he is.

You can purchase techstream from sellers with the malware already embedded in your fresh out the box product. See below.

At this point Im not sure your participation in this thread will yield you the results your hoping for.

You can purchase a subscription from Toyota. Other than that any method of using it is not legit so anti virus programs regularly flag them.

And yet you call me "asshole". Tons of people installed my setup and never had an issue. But rather than asking for help you preferr to call me an asshole.

I AM SO FUCKING DONE with helping newbies here coming for help.

And dude, look for help somewhere else. Your "reasonable" human being credits just expired on this forum.

And I am now officially DONE with helping anyone, here or behind the scenes guys. I was planning to make a loaner TIS laptop setup available to ship around, or ship forward like we did with the Carista but I don't think we're ready for that kind of setup and help. It only take few bad apples to ruin it for the rest of us. History just repeats itself.

Please do not message me here or privately for any TIS help, downloads, key, etc, etc. Shop is closed FOREVER.

Wow! John is very much a reasonable human being with good intentions. At this point your only option is to go buy a subscription from Toyota because no one on this forum is going to help you.

i understand your frustration. Realize that this a$$hole wins if you don’t continue. There are many that will benefit and appreciate your efforts. Most of these types are only here for a short while and leave when they don’t get what they want and the long term form members turn on them.

Sorry for the frustration that you've dealt with with this. I appreciate the help you provided. Just know that there are good people on here that appreciate you. If you decide to help again in the future, maybe look through someone's profile and consider their post and likes count as well as their join date before responding to them. That clown has 10 posts, 1 like and joined a month ago.

    Reading this is deeply disappointing.

When individuals like John offer their help purely out of genuine kindness, it’s disheartening to see them publicly criticized by those who clearly lack gratitude and respect. Such behavior reflects far more on the character of the person making the complaint than on the one offering assistance.

It’s entirely understandable when good people choose to withdraw from helping after experiences like this. Unfortunately, the old adage “no good deed goes unpunished” continues to ring true more often than it should.

As someone new to the Tundra community—I recently purchased my first one about a month ago—I’ve nonetheless spent years participating in the Tacoma, Scion, and Lexus forums. I’ve both benefited from and contributed to these spaces, which exist to support and uplift fellow members.

Sadly, there are always one or two individuals who behave as though they are exempt from common courtesy, and their actions can damage the spirit of the entire community.

If someone believes they are above the standards of mutual respect and collaboration, perhaps it would be more appropriate for them to start their own forum rather than undermining those who are simply trying to help.

Frankly, it’s difficult to understand this kind of behavior
