Does anyone have any idea how to fix the “trailer brake control off” problem? No one seems to know.

Whats the exact issue? Stabbing a guess, when I last unhitched, RCTA/LTA wouldn't come back on until I deselected my trailer off the towing menu; was not automatic.

It is my first tow. It won’t let me add a trailer because the TBC is off. I’m stumped. I just took it up to Toyota and they couldn’t figure it out. So I have a appointment to take it in on Monday.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
have you tried to access the TBC settings via the "settings" ? Use the left right button (s) on the steering wheel to get to the "settings" symbol shown on the dash - then use the up/down arrow to find the TBC settings. From there you should be able to fix your issue. If you have done all of this then your truck has an issue - note to add a trailer you must have the trailer harness hooked up and then follow instructions noted above. GL. and I think you need to turn off some other features (blind stop monitoring related) that will mess you up when backing - solutions posted somewhere in 3Gen threads.

Yeah, there is no TBC option under settings. It’s all under trailer settings “add a trailer” and there it just says TBC turned off and won’t let me add a trailer.

7-pin/camper is hooked up while you’re scrolling?

    Lots of stuff!
    Do the trailer lights work?
A quick check of the fuses and relays to confirm all is good?
Anything plugged into the 7 pin connector wiring like a Diode Dynamic hitch mounted brake light?
A multimeter might help to see what sort of voltage you are getting out of the plug at each terminal.

Or something like this could be helpful.

I remember having some issues setting the trailer. It would not do. Then i started again from the scratch(deleted the first one) and religiously followed the manual.
I dont know what i did wrong the first time, but the second it worked. There is some confusion, part setup you make on the instrument cluster and some on the 14" monitor.
I dont know if it resolves your issue, just throwing it in the pot.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
Mine is in the shop for the backup trailer assist feature right now. It went in Thursday and have heard nothing yet. I can train the system for the trailer in a parking lot. Save the trailer. I will use the auto backup and it works great. Without shutting off the truck I drive to my house a mile away and I try to use it to back down my driveway and it tells me the trailer is not detected when I hit the assist button. It then tells me to pull forward. Then it fails to detect the trailer. But the weird thing is that the lane assist detects the trailer and turns itself off. So that system detects the trailer but the backup trailer assist WON'T detect the trailer.

I have been in an F-150 XLT rental coming on 3 weeks this coming Tuesday. Got a bunch of hail damage fixed then to the shop to install a Wireless Air bag system with air tank. Then I decided to let the dealer check out this problem. I think that was a mistake.

I hate this this frigging F-150. I want my truck back!!!!!!
