Factory AUX Switches

ETA: Understood that there are aftermarket options for switches, this post is for the factory switches.

Found this over on a Tacoma forum. I have two open spots that I would like to fill and am wondering if anyone are running these.

Questions...
1. Are these self latching?
2. Are there issues installing these in existing openings? Possibles keyed for a specific opening, might be able to be modified.
3. Wiring connector to convert to aftermarket wiring items?

Did you install them in your truck? If you did any insights on the above questions?

3. Wiring connector to convert to aftermarket wiring items? All switches added are wired to aftermarket components

 

What harness did you use for the to go from the switch to the aftermarket item?

 

Tundra owners do not need the AUX harnesses. Only Tacomas and 4Runners with AUX switches pre installed require them.

My build thread also has some of this info. I source Aliexpress for the connector and pins to build my own harness. They are more cost effective for the connectors than OEM part numbers.

 

Thanks, sorry was taking about the connector, not necessary the existing harnesses that are pre-built into the Tacoma's. Which you cleared up.

 

FYI the part # listed in the OP are wrong, just fat fingered.

OP PN are correct
Historically they began as
84484-35010
84484-35020
84484-35030
All 3 are superseded with correct PNs

AUX4 is still showing up as 84484-AK040,but ran out of available blanks

 

The OP has them listed as 88485-AK010....and so on

Thanks for the info, this is a project I need to tackle. At a minimum I’d like to put my marker lights (always on now) and WeBoost on aux switches and like to do as much OEM a possible.

 

FYI for 22-24 owners these switches illuminate white
