Anyone install a device they think will actually do anything against EMP/CME? Was always interested in this.

Pretty sure you can find something on Ali that plugs into 12V socket and protects car from EMP.

    Nah...

Gas engine? EMP will kill everything electric and fry wires.
No hand crank? See above, you have no starter.
Any slightest reliance on anything electric? It is dead after EMP.

You need an old army surplus diesel truck, with mechanical everything. Dead instrument cluster and no headlights is all an EMP can break there.

In order to use this truck successfully after EMP event you need a general infantry platoon seated in this truck, so thieves, marauders and other crazy people will get killed in attempt of changing ownership of the only working truck in neighborhood.

In fact, after EMP you yourself better be in the Army. Armed men of courage and high discipline, stockpiles of food, clothes, meds, and plans A, B and C for every situation is the reason why the Army is resistant to EMP.

that's the only real answer. I have worked with weapons grade emp devices and something you plug into a cigarette lighter is going to work great.

If we have a regional EMP attack, trust me you should be more concerned about the four corners of your home over how to leave it.

    Write that down.

Homestead is as ready as can be. Just would like to get back home. Looks like keeping bikes in the back is best bet. Prepared to walk. Never wanted to work from home until pondering these situations.

I think about this from time to time. Most days I'm like 40 miles from home. According to Google, it's like a 14hr walk. :eek2:

Funny, I was actually looking into giving it a try. I walk my dogs daily anyway, so why not throw some weight on top of me.
