This may have been addressed previously, but wasn't sure if anyone has taken off the chrome INLAY on the hood scoops in order to paint them. Id rather take them off and properly prep them rather than just plastidipping them.

I've seen all the various overlays for this but it doesn't eliminate the chrome. Just wondering if anyone has popped that inlay out. A bit nervous I'm case it cracks or is held in by something I can't see. The edges seem to pull up easy. And to be clear not the entire hood scoop just the little chrome iforce max part

Don’t do it if you want the entire plastic vent gone. If it’s just the plate, shouldn’t be an issue

there are bolts going through your hood and removal of the entire vent will leave holes in the hood

OK. So again. Not talking about the entire thing. I went ahead and took them off and picture included. Turns out the ends of these were already pulling up so will paint them and replace them with 3m. Cheers for anyone else looking for solutions

There is a thread here about adding the TRD Pro/Hybrid vents on non hybrids, I believe someone on there removed the "PRO" letters on the TRD Pro hood vents to replace them with "off road" lettering.

I just painted mine with black plastidip and used the Tufskins overlays on the letters.
