Been around for quite some time. I had one 10-15 years ago and it was great and had an awesome range.

It came with the used 2019 I bought last year. Seems to operate exactly as advertised. Remote start works great and vehicle is ready to go after inserting key and turning to run. Big plus is vehicle doesn't shut off when you open the door like what I've read of the factory remote start, if that information was correct.

Still haven't figured out some of the other functions or if previous owner had them even programmed in.

Yep, same as above. I just got one. P9 model I believe. 3000' range, and 2-way comms to confirm start. Does NOT shut off when you open door, thank god. Once you get it on hit the start button it turns on the radio so it can sync with your smart phone. You can also start via phone if you want ($5/month) but cheaper than Toyota. Run time is programmable up to 45 mins before it shuts off.

Just wanted to confirm, you got Compustar on your 2022 Tundra and it's working well?

Are you able to arm/disarm and lock/unlock doors with the compustar remote?

I'm asking because in the past few years, usually compustar installers say that Tundra 2022+ isn't compatible with the compustar and they can only install it as a standalone system, or whatever compustar they install isn't fully integrated with the truck and you have to use both Toyota and compustar key fobs to arm alarm and lock and unlock the doors...

Hmmm, well, here’s what I know. (And I just double verified with the car). I can use just the Compustar fob to lock, unlock, and start the car. The car will not turn off once you get in. I made a mistake above, I have the Q9, not the P9 system. I had it installed at DJR Custom Electronics in Canastota, NY. The guy owns the business and you can tell he’s has been doing this for quite a while, I think he had me in and out in about 45 mins.

To be clear you still need the Toyota key to drive the car. So once you hit the car’s Start Button (once you get in) the Toyota key needs to be in the car or it will shut off. So for me, it’s easy, because I use the credit card key (from the Tacoma) and it’s always in my wallet so I only have to carry the Compustar Remote.

I'd avoid Best Buy if possible.

I've had a Compustar on my 2015 for 10 years and I've been happy with it.
I use the Drone Mobile app and pay for the basic subscription..
It sends me a notification if the Stage 1 or 2 alarm is triggered..

Ive had Compustar on my current Tundra since i purchased it. It did come from Best Buy and we have not had any issues with it at all.

One thing i will say about BB. The installers come and go, so if you can, look around at your BB locations and find out who is doing the install
and how long have been installing the remote starts.

Where mine was purchased, the installers quit and the store couldnt install it, so i had to make the appt for another location.
I ended up finding one guy who has been doing it for years at the other location and havent had any issues.

My engine does not turn off when you open the door. Isnt that just on the OEM units ?
