Considering a role in Costa Mesa which would bring me back to CA where I left almost 20 years ago when I lived and worked in Irvine for about 6 months. Anyone in OC that can give me an idea of places to live, school districts, and commute times?

I know it’s expensive and CA has it’s drawbacks but the role and company might be worth the move.

Irvine is double the rent/mortgage compared to the rest of OC which is already dang high. That Costa Mesa job better pay a ton or you’ll be commuting from Santa Ana or garbage grove

Dont forget the media is priming us for 8$ gas in 18 months. Good thing CA is the only state requiring a unique blend

    Too many, but not enough....
Fullerton is a decent area, I'd go for Brea if you can.

the media is a seeding ground. You often times see the powers that be insert stories into it a year ahead of what they plan on doing

Tustin/orange is a fine commute to his potential workplace. Fullerton would get annoying very quick

santana is cool, but eastside costa mesa is the best spot in OC if you can afford it. less expensive than surrounding areas (newport, irvine) but you still get the benefits. great schools, too. tustin is also a good spot. older neighborhoods with character that haven't been completely gentrified like costa mesa.

we left oc almost eight years ago, but i lived in and spent lots of time all over the county over my 7-8 years there. laguna beach is awesome, but wildly expensive. same with newport. costa mesa is the sweet spot if you want to be near the coast and have easy access to freeways that go in every direction.

I retired as a state LEO, I’m looking for land in TN and Missouri currently, the thought of 8.00 a gallon gas doesn’t sit well with me. It’s the reasoning behind it, misuse of tax money ect. I love this state but it’s not being managed properly and I don’t see any changes coming soon.
