I need to get a bottle of that. Love the Oban line and was lucky enough to visit the distillery in the fall of 2024.

I was in Myrtle Beach last week and as always I went to Total Wine because there isn't one close to me. The sales guy in a white shirt who proclaimed himself as an expert, suggested this and said it was fantastic and if I didn't like it he offered to buy it back. It has a nice front palate, sweet caramel but is immediately taken over by some kind of baking spices that linger a little. A 90 proof it is an easy sipper but I wouldn't call it fantastic and certainly wouldn't buy it again at the list price of 119, he sold it to me for $100. If you happen to find it at 50-60 that would be a good price and as high as I would go.

Check out Leopold Brothers. They are from CO.

They have a collaborative blend with Dickel, and they have a 4yr bottled for Total Wine. Both are excellent.

The collab is about $110, and the 4yr is about $60.

    Flux capacitor!
Buffalo Trace had to close their distribution from all the flooding in the area.

Maybe they’ll start a new bourbon called “straight from the river”.

It’s hard to believe how the distillery looks now compared to when I visited back in 2023.

You can see the river to on the far left of the aerial photo. I can only imagine the damage this has caused to their inventory and memorabilia items.

it is sad, however the more I look at that photo, the more I think it is fake. I mean all the labels are facing up and toward the camera... Really?

Yeah - it's hard to find around here but I agree, it's a top 5 for me. Really, really good pour. We slowly drank about 1/3 of the bottle last night..

I bought a bottle of the Peerless small batch several years ago and it was harsh and undrinkable. Even after letting it open up a bit nothing changed, so I ended up giving it away. Maybe I will try it again.

I'm a straight up Whiskey drinker.
Drank a lot of Crown and Coke in my younger days and as the years went by I found myself using less and less Coke.
In the End I said to Hell with it and started drinking it straight up on the rocks.
