Hello All, Just purchased my second Tundra and was interested in joining the social community to see pics, read stories, and ask questions. I have to get a picture of my truck and add to my info. I drive a Lexus to and from work but have had a Tundra for the fun things in life. Beach, mountains, motorcycling, Baseball tournaments, Soccer games, and of course...tailgating. Never understood how people could tailgate without the TAILGATE! I've read quite a bit of posts from Members as well as Moderators and I can say this looks like a great group of people helping people. Looking forward to many more years of fun in my Tundra.

Thx Gents. First stop will be window tint. Then I want to copy a few dudes and black out the TUNDRA badges. I'll be asking the experts soon. BTW, I'm down in SoCal so is there a local crowd to catch up with?

Nice! I just noticed your profile info. On a scale of 1-10, how difficult to do?

Oops! Haha, I was wondering about removal, painting, and replacing TUNDRA badges on front doors and tailgate. TIA

Your line about beach, mountains and soccer games screamed socal (probably OC).

There's a few guys from socal on here, myself included.

Simple. Just mask off current ones and use a fishing line / blow dryer to get the badge off. I used black plastic spray paint and painted a few coats on them. I then re-applied double sided tape I got from autozone after removing the goo from the back side of the badge and re-applied.

Blacking out badges can be easy. I did Plastidip on mine and all it required was some cleaning, taping, spraying, and final excess removal. I started the chrome ring around the A/C vents this weekend. Planning to remove trim around stereo to dip this weekend and finish it up. Some ideas are in the Plasti Dip thread

Smart guy you are Mr. Bob... SD County actually, but SoCal yes! Both boys are in middle school so we take the BWT (our nickname for the Big White Tundra) to sports a lot. When we have a free weekend we go to Pala raceway to ride MX. The kiddos are stoked to take over the Tundra when driving age. After all, they are pretty darn smart, like Daddy:)

NICE WORK DUDE! I'll be in touch for pointers in the near future. Did you paint everything in place? Just taped off and cleaned up? Wow.

Yup, just left in place. It took about 1-2 hours, mostly to tape, wait for layers to dry, and clean up. I was on Youtube looking at Plasti Dip tricks to see best way to accomplish. As soon as I finish the dash area, I will post as well.

Strong work. I'll UTube it also. Is the finish a smooth flat or a little bumpy like spray in bed liners? Not sure which way I want to go, seen both. THX Boss

I'm pretty new here, '15 CM, bought in July. This Forum has been the death to my finances, want to do more. Already changed interior to LED, reverse to LED, brakes to LED. It all adds up fast

Hahaha! I believe it! I bought my 2008 Double Cab 3 days ago and I'm getting tint done today. I want black badges and new wheels and tires. I went 4K over budget buying the truck cause I didn't want the 1st gen. The 2014+ models are massive but look the best. Oatmeal for dinner I guess...just like college. lol
