Just bought this truck 06 tundra limited crew cab with a 3” lift. Got it for 10k 189k miles. I see little cracks on the tires as posted on the pics probably due to age, was wondering if it’s hazardous driving? There’s quite a bit of tread left. I also hear kind of a constant faint whining noise while driving that I think the tires are causing. It picks up as the speed picks up. Anyone with these type of tires experience any noises while driving. Any inputs would be great, thanks

Find the date code on the tires. Never heard of ‘venom power’ tires. If it has spacers, make sure theyre hub centric, rather than lug centric.

Venom Power tires are Chinese in origin. Most, if not all A/T tires will have some level of noise. Some are definitely worse than others. Many will get louder as they wear.
The noise you're experiencing is likely normal for the tire.

The weather checking doesn't look great, but not terrible either.
Tread life looks like maybe 50% or so gone?
If it was me I'd ditch those things for some better tires.

Wheels look like they're in good shape!

    Welcome, by the way.

The checking on my titans coopers (‘22) is worse than my tundras bichelins (‘18).

generally cracking on the tread itself it relatively ok, you don't want to see cracking on the sidewall... however, the cracking on the tread is pretty rough so I would be thinking about getting new tires in the new-ish future

Look like retreads or just a terrible mold, check the date code on the tire too. They look a little dry rotted but not too bad.

I have 4.5 year-old KO2s with 69K miles on them that look like that. They are at end of life and getting replaced soon.

20’s are always a hazard. A piece of plywood with a framing nail could ruin a wheel. But kudos for having an aspect ratio above 50.

    I’ve got a set of 275/60-20’s. I’m just not ready for 33’s.

Appreciate all the input guys. I’ll probably be replacing em pretty soon. Any recommendations on something that won’t break the bank?

Well, depends on what you're wanting to do. Keep it strictly street, do mild off roading with 90% of the time on the pavement, moderate 4wheeling with 50% on the pavement, what's pavement? Give me mud!?
Also, the more aggressive the tread, the less MPG you'll have. Might be a tiny fraction less, YMMV. I personally don't worry about MPG.
I currently am running 305/55R20 all terrain tires. I do moderate 4wheeling about 25% of my driving.
Falken Wildpeaks are pretty good. Nitto Ridge Grapplers are going to be my next set. These are more aggressive than what I've got on there now. They're also more expensive.
So, IMO, it comes down to what you'll be doing with your awesome Tundra. Welcome from TN!!

Was the truck stored outside? Most likey the cracks are from UV damage. You may want to consider trying:

Those tires look like just plain cheap tires and I am glad that you decided to replace them.

Regarding what to replace them with at a reasonable price, it depends on how you plan to use the truck. If you are going to carry a load, pull a trailer, or drive long distances at highway speeds then you do not want to cheap out on tires.

Other considerations are whether you plan to stay on paved roads, live where there is snow in the winter, and whether or not you are concerned about aesthetics.

There are many choices of quality tires and I won't recommend a specific one because of the variables I mentioned above, but it pays to stick with good tires for longevity and safety. I normally go to Tire Rack and look at the ratings for the various tires that meet my needs. I don't necessarily buy from them, but it is a good place to start your research.

Cool cool. Yeah no off-roading it’s more of hauling things for house projects, maybe renting trailers, or long drives to go camping, etc. Sometimes taking it fishing to uneven road pavements lol. I’m in NorCal so the weather isn’t extreme out here But yeah I’ll look into some options at my tire shop. I kind off like the aggressive look of the A/T tires but it’s not needed

Yep, that narrows it down. Your tire shop can also (and will I'm sure) recommend tires that fit your needs. You got this!!

I’ve been hoping the price of toyo m55’s would come down, but thats unlikely. Kinda want some kevlar belted klevars. Just not sure how much of a gimmick that is, as far as puncture prevention.

I made it up to NorCal last summer. Actually was doing a sort of North West road trip. Drove from Seattle to San Francisco. Just because. Well, I lived in Oregon when I graduated HS. 1987. So it had been a minute. But anyway, always liked it up there.
