oh fun.. so the stupid unit is having issues already, not even a week in.

The audio cuts out whenever it feels like it, sometimes a loud screeching sound, and doesn't play any audio no matter what I do. Rebooted it, Factory Reset, nothing. Seems defective. I bought it from Amazon so at least they say since it's fulfilled by Amazon I should get my money back.

Yes. I saw a post here stating that sometimes you just get a dud or you get one that works. Lol well my luck a dud. Besides, what version do you have? The 64 GB or the 256 GB? I'm wondering if it makes a difference.

Maybe the crappy 64gb had problems. That's what I have.

Nothing yet except for some LED interior & exterior bulbs.
Did you email the manufacturer? Some folks were sent a software update to fix weird problems and it worked.

I suppose I can do that, since I already have the "return" started, it's an option to try a new firmware before sending it back.

    Update:
Checking firmware on their site for the latest. https://www.dasaita.com/community/forum/topic/36770/firmwares
    Android 13 Update
    G13 Version:Make Sure your unit is QCM6125 Andorid 13
    zst27_sc138_13_(20250311)

Emailed them with video of problem and build info. It looks like it is up to "release" date matches. Unless, they did a hot fix on the same day.

    My build info QCM6125 13 SA10A+123 eng.hct.20250311.103730 NA

And , it is working this morning (or when you let the device cool down - I think).

Hello all, just installed the unit a couple of days ago and yeah, the built in mic, sucks. I'm fine installing the ugly ass external mic if needed but was searching this thread and saw some talking about the Enfig mic. How are these holding up? And which one do you order? I have a '14 SR5 Gives an option of MIC-TOY1, MIC-TOY2 and MIC-TOY3.Screenshot 2025-05-11 090211.jpg

But are they any better than the external mics in terms of sound quality?

I have the G13 - i Like it but we did have sound issues relating to fade, but an update fixed it.

With your issues - i would send it back and not wait around for them to "maybe" fix it.

It came in this week but haven't had time to install it yet. I'll update after I compare them.

Razorwyre, installed it tonight and it's definitely better that the stock mic. First test wasn't any good but then realized I didn't have it plugged in all the way. Watch some YouTube videos for a nice clean install.

Further testing has revealed it picks up the speaker noise causing an echo for whoever you are talking to. Looks like it's a crap product......fabulous.

Who here is running either the T-mobile data only sim or a hotspot off their phone?

I have tested the T-mobil $2.00, 7 day sim and considered the jump up to the $10.00 a month deal.

I also do not have a hotspot with my Verizon phone and was curious as to which one would work out better.

So the question is: a sep Tmobile sim or connection to a hotspot? Which do you all prefer and why?
Is one any better than the other?

    Thanks

I’ve had no problems connecting to my phones hotspot. Only issue is a few taps each time I turn the truck on because it doesn’t automatically connect. I have the G13 10.2” since April 2024.

as others have mentioned only issue has been glare and brightness in full sun. Stock mic is also garbage. Outside of that it’s been fantastic.

Found a comment on Dasaita Facebook page regarding stock mic and sound quality.

Go into factory settings and under voice, look at mic. Whatever it's set at, change to zero, save and exit, saving changes. After reboot, go back into same settings and turn mic all the way up. Save and exit again, saving changes.

I did this the other day and spoke to my son over the weekend and he said I sounded fine
Still need to do further testing. Maybe I will call Mom's and see what she thinks. If she can hear me than it's golden.

As far the glare, if you find something that works let me know....

Found this earlier and forgot about it !

Well my 10.2 Dasaita unit finally died after 7 long years of service. Really, it's not broken, but the display just shows flickering images. The display ribbon must have a break in it, but Dasaita won't send me a new cable.

Looking to replace the unit before my long drive to Disney World in July.

Does anyone know if this is a decent replacement?

I just want the ability to back up to my trailer hitch well and have Carplay.

So I just found this thread! I am currently returning my Dasaita G13. I have done all the firmware updates, removed the AUX harness and reset the head unit dozens of times. Still having these issues.

I have been talking with tech support, once a day, at 03:00, because they are in China. They finally advised me to return the unit.

This is extremely disappointing as I was really looking forward to utilizing this unit for quite some time. I have read so many reviews that these units last a while.

On the other hand, for every one good thing I have read, I have read another bad thing. I think my biggest problem with my experience has been that the only support is in China. I went to go look for the firmware/MCU update myself and the forum was a nightmare.

Ended up getting a Horizon10 from Stinger. Way over priced, but with it being built in USA, exact fit and all the features I use on the Dasaita it seems like a no brainer.

Has anyone had a successful G13 swap, Firmware/MCU update and no issue?

Here's another topic for discussion: Apps.

Specifically, what apps are you downloading to replace the various apps that come on the Dasaita Headunits?

For instance, I downloaded Poweramp and the YAPS front end for it a few months ago to replace the basic music player app. So many configuration options!
I'm looking at options to replace the AM/FM tuner app. I've tested the NavRadio free app and so far like what I see. It's compatible with the Dasaita chip-set. I'll likely drop the $6 in the near future for the PLUS version of the app.

Any other suggestions from the community?

    Hello all,
I have a 2014 Crewmax and recently installed the Dasaita 13 head unit and everything worked great! Starting last week the Zlink won't connect to my phone and allow CarPlay. My phone shows that it is connected to the HU and this seems to be an issue with the HU itself. Anyone have any ideas on how to work through a fix? I have restarted it and its not connected to the internet so the software couldn't of updated.

You can go to the website and speak with tech support. Honestly, I went through all the tech support and came down to the day I had on my 30 day return and just sent it back. I think these started out as good units then went to crap.

I got a Horizon 10 as a replacement. Works perfectly.

Might try removing the negative battery cable for a minute. Will restart the unit and hopefully reset everything.

Mfelton18, do u have Bluetooth and WiFi running on your phone? My Dasaita won't connect to my android phone UNLESS I have BOTH Bluetooth AND WiFi turned on. I don't usually connect my HU to my home wifi either, so it seems odd to me that the HU requires both Comm avenues to operate on just Bluetooth, but....

Yeah I saw your earlier post and have been looking into that unit. Not too invested in trying to talk to Dasaita honestly.
