I think it's a line of sight problem. IIRC 5G requires it, and its range is only a few hundred yards. My uncles ranch has 5G, and it's also on the outskirts of BFE.

Watched a YT vid that talked about the scam. There’s 5G and 5G+. Two separate frequencies. 5G from a throughput perspective is similar to 4G LTE, except with less range. 5G+ is where all the big promises come from but as @1794TX points out has a range issue. It’s also higher in the spectrum which means buildings and other structures block it more than lower frequencies like 4G.
