Woke up this am to a dusting. Wouldn't even call it an inch. Snow is falling lightly right now. You coming out for work or play?

For play. I went about 2 years ago and stayed in an Airbnb in Bailey. It is such a beautiful area. I couldn't get enough of Colorado. I drove down to Pueblo and around Denver, too.

Nice. Bailey is such a cool area. Rural enough to get away and tons of outdoor activities. Feel free to hit me up for any recommendations if you want to. I've lived in CO for most of my life so I know why people are drawn to it. Lots of great biking, river running, hiking and shredding mountains on the snow to be had out here.

Thanks for that. Are there any places like Dinosaur ridge? I plan on going there again this trip. It's too cool to pass up on.

Guess I should share the adventures from taking the Corolla in for an oil change on Saturday.

(Yes, I should do it myself. No, I don't have time right now.)

They recommend a coolant flush for $190. No thanks.

They recommend a brake fluid flush for $160. No thanks.

Front brake pads are at 1/8". They want $450 for pads and rotors and another $400 for labour. I guess when the brakes start squealing, I'll buy the parts at Canadian Tire and do them myself.

Service advisor: we recommend replacing the cabin and engine air filters. Yours are pretty dirty.
Me: Oh? How often do you typically recommend that?
    Advisor: Every 10k miles
Me: good thing I just changed them at my last oil change 5k miles ago, then, isn't it?

She also told me the right license plate light was burned out so I bought a bulb before I left the dealer. Got home and checked before I changed it. Turns out the license plate lights are fine but my left headlight was burnt out. Had to go back to the dealer on Monday to pick up one of those.

Also, $40 for a halogen headlight bulb?!

That's insane. You can get some bright white light Sylvania's in a pair for $25.

I thought about buying a $20 bulb at CT but the OEM ones tend to last 5 times longer.

    You just wait
Little known fun fact, OEM bulbs last longer because they are dimmer. Manufacturers realized that headlights going out on their car while it is still relatively new/under warranty made the customers perceive the quality as being lesser so they traded some brightness for some longevity.

New car headlights have been too bright for the last 10 or 15 years, anyway.

And the LED models are non-serviceable and will require an entire replacement headlamp assembly. On the more luxurious brands (BMW/Mercedes) the headlights themselves require recalibrations after installation.

When our youngest was born, we put latches on all of the lower cabinets. The kind you have to reach in to release. When she started walking, we found out that she could open them faster than we could.

I believe it. Next you have to try it in the Forrest with no buildings around. It's rejuvenating for the soul to be outside in a storm and just sitting through it.
