I thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones. Nope haha I had no issues until this point and then all of a sudden knock knock knock. I brought it to the dealership and they said my tundra is going to be there for a month before I get a new engine because my VIN isn’t scheduled for a replacement engine yet.

Sounds like you got some good miles out of it and a new engine coming.

Damn, man. That sucks. Are they giving you a loaner or are they doing a rental?

    Welcome from NY.
Hopefully they gave you a loaner car.

Do they reset your ODO when you get a new engine? Sounds like it may work out for you pretty good then if you're getting a brand new replacement after 80k. Other than having to drive a loaner for 4 weeks, what's the downside?

No. That would be odometer fraud.

You got good mileage out of that engine. That's what I call reliability! Almost 80k on one engine!

And it's brand new for the most part!!!
At least it sounds like Toyota is stepping up and doing the right thing.

A 2nd odometer for the new engine would be good for resale. Not legal but helpful

Downside: new engine fails in 12,001 or more miles.

Toyota says hah hah so sad to be you.
