Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas (TMMTX) in San Antonio, Texas.

When Toyota released the first year Hybrids, I believe they were making the motors in Texas. I am not sure now as it stated that they were all made in Alabama both hybrids and non-hyrbids. However, I do know that they delayed production in Jan-Fed of 23 to clean the factory which was producing them so anything after March of 23 should have been a post cleaning produced motor.

So Toyota has two motor machining and assembly plants for the V35 in the Tundra? One in Alabama for NA engines and one in San Antonio for the hybrids?

I have no idea; you tell me since you appear to be the know all end all to Gen 3 Toyota Tundra's and all the mass failures of the said 3rd gen. We are almost to the 2026 model year and a 5-year 3rd gen Tundra production cycle. Yet they are still selling a crap ton of trucks and continue to break records which they could not have done with the previous generation of Tundras.

and you and your follows continue to thrive off the old mass failures of the 3rd gen. Which appears to not be accurate or true, how many 24-25 failures are there.

I have no skin in the game. Not excited, not upset.

The plant in Texas puts trucks together, they don’t machine and assemble motors. Alabama does the motors. But what do I know, I’m just a “troll” cause I say stuff (the facts as I understand them) about a truck that apparently you own, and do not like those facts so you get upset. My bad. Didn’t say it for you. Sharing the info cause it’s a forum where we share info.

What facts do you post? what contribution do you make other than 3rd generation bashing. Hate to break the news to you, but the 3rd gen Tundra is the best Tundra to date period. It is in a league level above the previous generations. Eventually your 2020 which is going on 6 years old will need to be replaced. You might then have gotten over your opinion of the 22s and 23s which isn't reflective of the whole model line up.

I have no opinion that I’ve shared about the 3rd gen. I own a 2000 that I bought 20 years ago. I shopped them when I bought my 2019 used. Wasn’t sure about the new power train so I went with the 2019 and the 5.7. I wasn’t opposed to the 3rd gen then, I’m a bit reluctant now. I sold the 2019 and am still driving my 2000 with 280k miles on it with zero “need” to replace based on arbitrary years or miles. Not sure what I said on here that would constitute “bashing” in your words. My “opinion” of the 2022 and 2023 is merely based on the “fact” that they recalled every single non-hybrid to replace the motor in them. They did not recall the hybrid, not because it can’t suffer the same failure, but because the electric motor supposedly makes it safe to drive in the event of a gas motor failure. If any of this is incorrect, please correct me, I know you really want to. And I don’t care if im wrong, I will freely admit I was wrong and apologize for misleading and upsetting the 3rd gen owners who are all waiting to hear my take on the world and base their personal happiness on it.

I have the auto-extending skid plate. Is it always stowed unless you trick-f*k it with the mist shutoff for oil changes?

It deploys around 40mph and stows when you drop to about 25mph. I have never felt or seen it in action. I found out about it when I started doing oil change research.

It has a service mode that deploys the spoiler when parked, engine recently shut off, hold mist. You can hear it deploy if you have your window down.

It will retract on the next drive cycle.

The 3.4 is superior in every way except longevity which remains to be proven.

My 5.7 sounded way better. Especially when broken arrow decided I didn’t need a muffler.

The one point that absolutely cannot be debated.
    A V8 will always sound better than a V6, N/A or boosted.

Yeah, that's entirely possible. My '24 (Limited with TRD Offroad pkg.) has the TRD front skid plate listed on the sticker as a stand-alone line item/option for $380.

I would have thought this would be obvious to most but....

Toyota Motor Manufacturing, as in the Manufacturing plant of Toyota Motor Corporation, the parent company.
As already stated by KNABORES, not where Toyota makes motors. Or engines either.

Good point. I do like the sound of the TRD tails though. Sounds very much like a Toyota to me.

Is the 25 trd rally exhaust different from the regular trd exhaust? I was looking at buying a used one off a 24 I believe.

The Rally has the tail pipes from the TRD Pro. They don't have a resonator, so they make a little more noise.

Going by this info here and from another couple I've seen...also learning just merely on oil change subject to get it out of the way.

https://youtu.be/gWAk1MDpwis?si=BiJWuIql5E_mqNDd <--- shows a particular step to getting it out of the way for skid plate access.

    Thanks for that info.

at 102,000 vehicles. That is not all of the Toyota Tundra's produced in 22 and 23.

Toyota's Huntsville, Alabama, motor plant had production debris issues leading to a recall of about 102,000 vehicles.

I don't care about your opinion-based facts, since I have not had an issue. I also have a 10 year or 150k mile warranty to fall back on if my truck does blow its engine. I do not base any happiness on the BS you spew since this is now behind Toyota's launch of the Tundra and issues are no longer a factor.

The V35A-FTS (Type '21) for the Tundra and Sequoia, whether the i-FORCE or i-FORCE MAX, have always come from TMMAL.

To say, think, or believe otherwise is simple ignorance and stupidity.

Would you like proof from Toyota themselves of this very fact? See here: https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-alabamas-future-is-electrified-turbocharged/

And if you think that the i-FORCE MAX hasn't suffered failures, again, welcome to simple ignorance and stupidity.

You do realize that ~4,000 of the 102,000 were actually produced in Japan for the LX 600?

And you simply don't understand that the debris issue was not fully resolved until November 2024.
