I removed my side steps and plan to sell them with the mounting hardware which leaves me with empty holes. Do they sell plugs for them through Toyota?

What about trucks that came without side steps, what is in place of the bolts?

I just don't want to leave them empty for salty water to intrude and cause rust.

Mine came without steps. There are just bolts in the holes.

Does anyone know what size the bolts are that fit in those holes? I bought some steps for my 2018 and the bolts that came with it from Cap-It don't fit.

Use reinstall the bolts and leave them in the holes. That's how they come from the factory.

I ended up doing just that as the buyer of the steps had his own bolts.

The previous owner of the vehicle left the holes empty, that is why I was looking for the exact size. The holes are full of road grime so I have the correct bolts but they will not go in, I ordered an M8x1.25 tap to clean them out.

I found the size on another thread, they are M8x1.25x20mm

I’m adding side steps, so I just need to clean the holes out so I can get the new bolts in.

Don't use a tap on already threaded holes. It will take out material and make it looser. Use a tool called a thread restorer.

I took your advice and skipped the tap, I found these wire brushes that can be used with a cordless drill, they worked like a charm!

    None at this point.
They do make plastic inserts use specifically for that purpose.
    They just snap in.
It gives you a clean look.
But yeah...I'd just put the bolts back you plug your holes and you wont lose them if you ever need em again.

That's exactly what I was going to recommend.
