Cabin Smell after roof replaced.

The roof of my 2021 Tundra was replaced due to damage caused by my garage door. They kept for two weeks. I picked it up today and the cabin has some strong chemical fumes. Almost like gasoline. I also noticed dark finger prints all over the headliner.

Are chemical fumes normal after a repair like this.

how difficult is it to clean dark finger prints off the headliner?

 

Post pics. If it's bad, they need to take care of it.

 

What about the chemical fumes? Is that typical? They told me the truck was ready on Friday, but I couldn’t get to the shop until today to pick it up so you think any repair fumes would’ve dissipated by now I don’t know anything about this stuff though so maybe it’s totally normal

 

Seam sealer perhaps? The finger prints would be a no go for me. Take it back. Likely need to leave the windows open until the seam sealer is fully cured / off gassed?

 

The shop told me they will steam clean the headliner and use an ion machine for the fumes.

 

When I got home I noticed the seal that runs above the door near the windshield along the edge of the roof all the way to the rear glass was popped up near windshield and popped up at the back near the rear glass. This can’t be good.

 

I didn’t take a picture but it’s popped up like that on the other end by windshield too.

I also noticed it has sections that don’t seem aligned right.

 

Here’s the other end where it meets the windshields. Almost looks like it’s slightly too long.

 

Towards back glass on passenger side.

 

I also noticed the seals around the rear doors were loose in places. WTF

 

Take it back to whoever did the repair and have them fix it. If you used insurance for the repair and get resistence from the shop, contact your agent and have them get involved.

 

Apparently, it’s called the roof drip molding.
