Toyota calls it Vehicle Stability Control. The Tundras also have Anti-Sway control for towing that utilizes the ABS in case the sensors detect that your trailer is swaying too much. It activates the rear brakes in an effort to bring things back under control the same way that it does to emulate a limited slip differential. I don't see many references to the Anti-Sway, but then I don't frequent the towing threads either.

I think I’ve developed an exhaust leak at my exhaust manifolds with all this extra heat. As the engine and exhaust heats up it gets louder. Good chance it’s those darn air injection tubes. Same leaky tick sound as when I had leaky aftermarket shorty headers on my 2000 tundra from a previous owners bad install. Have to investigate further. I really don’t want to have to do headers right now, hoping I can try a repair for it I saw Viktor share on a tundra talk with some metal strapping and extra nuts if that is the source of the leak (his pic included).

Guess it's just time to bite the bullet and install some ARH long tubes and bypass that stuff.

Dislike! Though headers would be cool, I don't envy more bleeding right now and really don't like mechanical issues popping up right as tow season is about to start.

Yeah...the guy thats going to install my Magnuson said he wouldnt install headers.
My only thought is he cant tune the truck when you start adding other performance parts.
    Nothing else really makes sense.
I mean I can install the headers I was just hoping to save a little work and have him do it before the tune.
I even have the catbacks already waiting to be installed.
Starting to sound like a second tune is going to be inevitable.

Call @snivilous or OTT for tuning with headers and a supercharger. It’s not like it hasn’t been done before.

    Interesting.
    Have to look into that.
Having never tuned anything more complicated than a lawn mower It makes me a little nervous to start jacking with my truck.

Sorry if I missed it but who's doing your s/c install and tune if you don't mind me asking? Are they just flashing in the provided magnuson tune or doing a custom tune?

I’ve never met a tuner over multiple vehicles. Log, email log, they email tune, log, email log, etc. NA stuff should be one or two revisions. FI could be a few more.

If you or your mechanic are in an emissions restricted area, that might be the reason... The blower will pass testing, but often times installing headers won't, and therefore some mechanics won't touch em... :notsure:

Did you try asking him why he won't install headers? Sometimes the direct approach yields the best results.

    Not that I'm aware of.
Texas is a pretty conservative state and oil and gas are a huge part of the economy so I wouldnt think so.

I plan on it when I bring it in.
Magnuson picks the installers so you're kinda stuck with whoever they pick.
On the plus side he's only a couple miles from the house.
Could've been way worse with Houston being damn near 80 miles across at its widest.
Plan on doing some more research about the headers and other mods I have planned.
In the end if I can do the other mods and have to go on a bit of a road trip to get it tuned I'm fine with that being retired.

Houston has emissions testing. One of the few counties that does. Same with Williamson county where I live. But there are dozens of speed shops in Houston so it shouldn’t matter. Unless your tech just doesn’t want to do it.

I live in Houston, about all they do is verify your systems are showing "Ready". When I go to get inspections, I spend more time talking to the technicians about my rig than they spend inspecting it.

This is the same in Phoenix, I have to put the 2013 cluster back in because the cel never lights up on the 2018 & tell them the miles because it's still at 127k. They do not care.

    lol

I left out, last time, I brought a picture & said it was + the 8 miles to get there & he didn't look, just said how many miles do you want me to put.

    Too many mods to come
Many shops are now not installing headers just an fyi. Mainly due to the emissions bs. Also OTT will not tune these either if the headers/cats have been changed.

Does this mean you have driving impressions? I dropped mine off to be done this week hopefully. Gears will still have to wait a bit.

I wonder what their policy is if your cats failed and you replaced them with SPD midpipes with EPA approved cats that throw no CELs? Sometimes it’s just a money thing, many can’t afford to replace them with OEM cats.

Pretty sure thats only if you live in Harris County.
We're just outside of Harris and I cant remember the last time I had to get an emissions test.
Although I know that if your vehicle is new they dont require an emissions test until they reach a certain age.

I do. Totally not cruisers and companies fault, but fed ex delivered it with the box beat to shit. When I removed the valve body, one of the mounting ears for the filter was broken off even though it was very well wrapped in bubble paper. No big deal I just used 3M quickset epoxy and was able to torque the filter bolt to spec without issue. Install was pretty quick. Maybe 2 hours start to finish with me trying to still do stuff at work. Driving impressions.....Um I am a little underwhelmed to be perfectly honest. The 1-2 and the 3-4 shift are nice and crisp. Not harsh by any means just smooth and quick. The 2-3 though feels stock and that's really where I wanted the quick firm shift. I reset the transmission learned values as well.
