Not all. I picked up on it, hence the take a healthy dump to save some weight. ;)

No noticeable idle improvement for me, but it doesn't surprise me that others have had some based on comments here of "optimized ignition timing (even) at idle", and one of those comments by a 2.5gen owner.
What I have noticed is that my off-idle hesitation is greatly reduced with 91-93 versus 87. I can go back to 87 and it comes back.
No, I don't have a scanguage or logs.

If someone can show me via scanguage or similar that there is zero difference in ignition timing or fueling at idle or otherwise between 87 to 91/93, then I will be convinced it's all in my head.

Until then, I'll keep "wasting my money" and feel fine about it.

Was replacing the fuel pump in my V....O (god forbid proclaiming that brand in turd gen forum) turbo wagon. Turbo == 93 octane. Turned out a wrong fuel pump was purchased, so spent an extra 30 minutes inhaling the fumes. My impressions on 93 were pretty high. Yeah.

I just love car forums... some days I learn useful stuff and some days I just come here when I need a good chuckle. Guess which kind of day today is...

Glad we can help, lol. People get butt hurt for no reason. In a few days I’ll fill up again with 93. My tank average did jump up 1 mpg more. Same commute.

That I can believe... but maybe probably something more like 0.5MPG... due the ECM MAP giving more advance at power... depending on how you drive. But not worth the 40 cents more per gallon. At least for me. And I'm not butt hurt. It's your $ if you want to waste it. I just have to chuckle at the rationalizations. And to be clear, if and when I tow something more than our lawn mower trailer, especially in hill country, she will get premium for sure. But not for typical DD.

    What happened?
Had the TRD Blower in my Tacoma which was made by Magnuson and never had a problem with it?

I remember reading/watching an interview with Mike Sweers with him saying the truck makes it's advertised power on 87. Those running premium and saying it feels more responsive have any tested to see if it makes more on premium fuel?
