Overall review of the retrax pro xr for my '24 Tundra is overall positive.

Pros: Easy to set up out of the box. Was able to set it on the tailgate, assemble, and lift it in place without any help.

Seems quality, though time will tell how it holds up. Every slat has weatherstripping in place between each and every other slat.

Increases fuel efficiency, reduces drag, keeps cargo dry, and safe from thieves.

Tailgate can still be opened/closed without having to retract the cover.

Cons: Poor initial impressions on fitment and quality. Scratched out of the box, but on the canister bottom so it doesn't matter so much.

Weatherstripping on the rails could have been better quality than just cheap foam.

The part where the rails thread into the side of the canister's holes did not line up, causing initial installation issues. The included hardware - aluminum t spacers that fit inside the bed rail do not sit in the groove indents of the OEM rails - being slightly larger. When the clamps are installed holding the retrax to the OEM rails, these threaded spacers sit at an angled position and do not securely clamp the system to the truck - or as securely as one would like. To me, this is an R&D issue - if the spacers had been just a little bit shorter they would have fit perfectly into the OEM rail groove indents

Overall, not a bad system - and pictures to come. For $2000+ I expected this product to be spot on in regards to quality, figment, and hardware/installation - and its almost there. Easy install, and no other issues than those described above. Also powerwashed the truck afterwards and the only water that was evident was by the canister drains. System functions as intended. I plan on dropping these drains eventually to the outside of the truck bed.

If anyone has any questions and is looking for non biased answers feel free to reach out.

Install photos and reflections after rain storm. The only water visible is that which has trailed to the front of the bed from the drain tubes. Not bad.

Spacer fitment: A little concerning. After some driving, I noticed this spacer was about to pop out from the bed rail system. They need to re-engineer these to make them more snug on the tolerances. This is unacceptable on the price point of this product. You can also see the angle of the spacer failing to sit right between the bed rail grooves. Tldr, they need to shorten the length and increase the width of these spacers.

Yeah, won’t increase mpg. I’ve had a few trucks with tonneau covers, never happened

Increased aero increases fuel efficiency, so yes - increases mpg.
