F150 softopper interchangeability with 1st gen tundra?

Does anyone know if a softopper off an 11th gen f150 (04-08) will fit a 1st gen tundra?

It looks like the f150 bed is a hair longer at 78.8in x 62.4in compared to the tundra bed at 74.7in x 62.8in, but they seem close enough it may work.

There’s a tan softopper that would look great on my red AC that I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth driving a ways to pick up. Appreciate any first hand insight here!

 

I wouldn't call 4 inches a "hair" longer. That's going to look stupid as shit. Sorry. You might have been able to fake it on the width.

 

Yup. 4 inches is a lot. I've even been told that it is plenty.

 

People complain about a hair less than 1" of overhang putting DC shells onto an AC truck. And leaks galore, just from that ¾" difference.

 

Was going to say the same thing. A 4 inch margin of error is known in the science and engineering fields as a 'fuck ton'.

A long time ago, I was going to a music festival with a friend and needed a topper on my '89 S-10 to keep the rain off of us. I borrowed the topper off of my dad's '86 Dodge D-50. It worked for the weekend trip but the entire inside of the bed got coated with gravel dust from the roads we drove on because the S-10 had a 6' bed and the D-50 had a 6-1/2' bed. The back edge of the topper was about even with my bumper. I would deficiently not try one that is 4" too long.

 

Ha! I should have figured it was enough to make a big difference. Just wasn't sure with these folding tops if a little extra could still work, so thought I'd ask. Appreciate the responses. I knew 4in was big enough to matter.

 

We don't recommend putting that top on your Tundra. That model won't fit correctly due to the length and height. This can cause a bunch of problems for you once its installed and we want you to have the best experience with your Softopper and do not think this top with give you that. If you find another used one, we would be happy to check the compatibility!
