What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Correct, I spent a few hours researching, and dismantling my truck only to find that there was no hole in the reservoir, nor wiring for a sensor.

The wiring didn't appear to be there for me, but that was a V6 example. V8's may have it. I damn sure haven't had time to dismantle crackie the way I did ole beaut.

That looks solidly built, and can always add more to stack on top (hence their cleverly appropriate name I see).

I just found this Plano--its currently out of stock but was still able to order and it'll be shipped as soon as it comes back in. Only $35 for this color and style variation. Seems like a hell of a buy especially for the 108qt with hinges and wheels.

I've got one of these. Sturdy despite it's lighter construction. Makes a great portable hunting chest.

 

Hot damn, my brain worked again. Hard to believe that was near 5 years ago now. We been on here too long, man.

Plano was my go-to for tackle boxes since forever, ever since I saw Bill Dance using Plano as a kid. But I gotta say, the quality of some of their products seems like it's declined in the last decade or two.

I downsized a lot of my gear back around 2006-2008* and picked up a new dual-sized clear Plano tackle box and I know it was legit, I bought it in person at BPS. Damn interiors are warped, the cover doesn't shut right because it's warped... really a bummer. Largemouth is my normal go-to, and I'll say, at least my Culprit soft baits haven't managed to melt or warp the clear side covers, but I learned to keep most of them still in the bag many moons ago after other mishaps.

I have one of these things right now, Plano 1373, was using it for small parts in our lab at work, before I had to close the site. Pretty flimsy also. The front door was the first to break off. I ended up harvesting the bins for misc bike parts. I currently have the carcass sitting behind me as I type.

I've lost faith in their products at this point.

I've heard this stuff can ruin washer fluid sensors. It'll also stain the washer fluid tanks. Second one isn't a big deal but I always worry about the first thing, even though I'm sure it's not very common.

 

I've never had a problem or heard of that issue. I've been running it for years in multiple cars, even in my 98 Camry. The sensors still worked fine.

 

Update: I ordered mid day last Monday and UPS has my suspension arriving tomorrow. (It might even be here today). I’d say that’s fast turn around time for pre-assembled and I’m quite pleased. Josh had lot’s of good reviews from you guys and just add me to the list of thumbs up.

Update to the Update: Suspension Arrived in perfect Condition and is installed. Looks great from what I saw maybe 1/4” lower in the front from what it was before.
I actually have it over at a friend’s suspension and alignment shop and he will be aligning first thing tomorrow morning. I might have some unwanted issues with the LCA bushings and hopefully there won’t be any issues doing the alignment. Once again the journey down the cash sucking “Rabbit Hole” has begun. When the wheel guy tells someone with OCD that the clunking noise they hear is most likely worn LCA bushings …. Well my perfectionist mind has already located genuine Toyota parts and part numbers ($900+)…. I’ll know more about this tomorrow and will post pics when done…

Contemplating doing the same, or 6112 up front with 5100 rears. My original coil springs are rusted up in the front fairly badly. Also getting vibration at 60mph and when letting off the gas i get a rumble before it stops. Just got a new alignment and balance. Brakes , rotors, and calipers all look ok too

 

I used to be a rain x guy, but now after ceramic coat it doesn’t even matter what I put the water doesn’t stick. Bug guts and bird shit still sticks but that ceramic coating is slickernshit

 

What’s that? My truck never came with a working one since new. Then again, I didn’t know it existed until 15 years later.

6112 comes with springs, just need to either swap over your OEM top hats and isolators or buy a new set from KYB, so you can assemble outside the truck and make it a bolt-up experience.

6112 has a fatter body than the 5100s, and should have all the adjustability you need to dial-out any Tundra Lean.

 

Welp, I'm sold--would probably only want to do a 1" lift. Is a lift required for the 13wl brake upgrade?

 

I dont think a lift makes a difference on the brake upgrade. Just a matter of your wheels clearing the bigger calipers and you might have to just trim the dust shield on the brake. I needed to just notch a little piece out to make the bigger calipers fit for my brakes

Also, I have the 6112s up front and really like them. There really isnt any other shock that gives such a wide body for the price. Good bang for the buck for sure

 

True, I have 16s--typically 13wl only fits 17's and up (without any trimming)?

 

I have 16s as well with the 13WL. Fits just fine but like i said, a little trimming on that dust shield.

 

I have 16s with 13WLs as well. Dust shield trimming was all that was required to fit them. A few select 16" wheels will not clear them, most seem to.

 

Mine has the light present on the dash but I'm really good about keeping my washer fluid topped off in all my vehicles, so I'm not sure which ones the light works on anyway.

Also, Ive had 4 different 16s on my truck since the 13WL upgrade and all have worked. Like @KNABORES said, most 16 wheels will probably clear the calipers

 

All aftermarket, all OEM, mix of both? Just curious. Seems like the complaints with fitment were mainly from OEM, taken from non-Tundras

Ok, so we have confirmation now that both the Starfish and the OEM steelies (I expect all steel wheels will clear) work. I think there's only one other 16" wheel, alloy, that came with our trucks?

 

Just a side note on this, only1/8oz and 1/4oz static wheel weights on the 16s will clear the WL calipers. 1/2oz static will rub

They do. In some situations....

 

As long as you only drive straight they will be fine.

 

And avoid potholes. Which will be tough if you can't turn the wheel to dodge them.
