Peanut butter, mayo and cheese on basic white bread. I grew up on that in the trailer park.

If there's beans in the bowl, it's beans. Chili does not have beans.

I'm with the no beans crowd on this one. Not because I believe it to be chili one way or the other, but for preservation of my family. I love beans, but they do not love me.

Also, that chili is one of 3 acceptable condiments on a hot dog. The other two are mustard and onions. Chile cheese is not acceptable.
If you go to any hot dog joint here and ask one all the way, that's what you'll get. Most places will give you somethimg else if you ask, but one local guy won't serve anything else. He'll kick you out if you ask for ketchup.

The Norfolk hot dog is a hot dog popular in Norfolk, Virginia. It is served with Lynnhaven mustard, onions and meat sauce.[49][50]

To me, hot dogs are best in one of 3 ways:
    1. Plain. Just the dog on a quality bun.
    2. Chili dog. Just chili added.
    3. Ketchup, mustard, and honey in equal parts added. Sounds awful, looks worse, and tastes amazing.

Bourbon is defined by rules established in Kentucky. Bananas Foster is defined by the recipe from Brennan's in New Orleans. Chili is defined by rules established in Terlingua, Texas. I don't make the rules.

Pretty sure chili is defined by rules somewhere in Mexico, and they say both are chili.

So, sauerkraut doesn't go on a hotdog?

It's not a hotdog, but a brat in a bun with one or both sauerkraut and stone ground mustard is a great food.

No sauerkraut here. But it is acceptable on brats.

Texas chili is defined by rules made in Terlingua, TX.
You can make the rules as long as you accept that I won't follow them.

I've seen ketchup banned in more than a few restaurants. Ketchup should have a total ban.

Those are the local rules. I know come heres that like it, just can't get it at a traditional hot dog joint. My wife likes American cheese on dogs and can't do chili, she's a come here.
