What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

If you have a 14-21 crewmax you can get black overlays for almost every part on Amazon. I ordered these, not realizing they didn't fit my DC, and ended up painting the rear door strips since these were too large, but the front strips look amazing.

 

Added some red to the front end with silicone covers.

While I was down there I noticed all 3 clips holding the center bumper piece to the skid plate(?) were gone. Anyone know what specific clips I need?

 

I think it’s bolts that hold it, I can chk in the morning.

 

Are you referring to the 3 tabs that bolt to the skid plate and the holes are missing the plastic inserts that hold the screws?

 

I think so, the 3 holes in the bottom of the middle section of bumper have nothing in them and they definitely should. It's late, I'll snap a pic when there's daylight.

 

It should be #2 and #3 in the diagram for the resin bumper.

Found the finest chineseum TRD grille out there, less than a third the cost of the OEM one. Love the Toyota script and dead easy install, about a beer worth.

 

Did you get just the insert or is it with the surround? Were the letters separate?

It came with a black insert, of very questionable quality, taking the oem grill out was not a sexy good time.

 

My whole life has been a lie....I've been doing it wrong my entire adult life.

 

That's a dooable option... really no different than the overlays for the door handles, etc...

 

I bought mine used too. But it was well taken care of and runs very well. Just a tick over 90,000 miles when I bought it. Now it has about 154,000 trouble free miles. The hood bulge is a thing but doesn't affect how it runs. I'm getting the aftermarket clips today so that will be a nice little project to do.

Same. Tried to shop around for a better price, but ended up just biting the bullet

 

I just buy the $12 kit with an assortment of push pins from harbor freight.

I just replaced all the pins for my grill and fender liners and a bunch of other places after rebuilding my tundra.

 

Installed the McGaaaarrr tailgate theft preventer. You guys are a bad influence financially, this is on top of the Valhalla cat shields, dirty deed exhaust, TRD rear sway bar, bilsteins etc etc lol

They aren't perfect coverage though. I ordered some and returned them because they still left gaps.

 

Over the weekend I made it drag our new SXS about 1300 miles round trip for its maiden voyage. It was the maiden voyage for the 22 year old trailer I spent the last 3 months refurbishing too. I'm happy to say no issues with the truck, SXS, or trailer. I can't imagine how my Tacoma would have struggled on those big hills in WV and Western MD.

Overall a great time and we learned some things we need to tweak to make the SXS rides more enjoyable and less muddy.

 

Yup. They know how to spend our money. I fell in that rabbit hole too.

 

Zero gaps here. Perfect fit. YMMV?

I got mine off of a guy on Facebook that sells these and "trd" skidplates here in Edmonton. He does ship though.

 

This is opposed to the standard "white girl" invited yogi common to the western U.S.

 

We know nothing that you speak of LOL.

 

Perhaps quality control? I'll give it another shot.
