Hey guys, I’ve pretty much dug through both Tundras.com and Tundra Solutions, as well as YouTube, I know its possible as guys have said they’ve done it, But I can’t quite figure out one step.

I’ve installed the cruise stalk, pinned out the connector running into the clock spring, and I’ve figured out the #1 & #2 connectors for the plug coming out of the clock spring above the key cylinder.

The wire that bridges from the #1 spot on the black plug (above the key cylinder) is supposed to go to the AJ5 plug inside the driver side kick panel. I can’t find a diagram for that plug but supposedly I’m looking for wire #10 which I’ve gotten two different answers about. Some say its a brown wire, some say its a lavender wire, I believe I’ve correctly tried both, but now I’m wondering if its actually the thick purple wire I should be trying. Anyone done this mod?

I pulled this wiring diagram for a 2007 4.7 Truck. You essentially just need to add everything in the redbox.

You said you added the stalk with the controls/buttons on it. It should have two wires coming into the small z2 connector on the front of the steering wheel.
Pin #3 (Maybe brown) is the ground
Pin#4 (Maybe Blue) is the signal wire.
The z2 connector is a small rectangle 4 pin connector that plugs into the front side of the spiral cable in the center of the wheel under the airbag.

These 2 wires go through the spiral cable and come out in the J45 connector. Pin #1 is blue signal wire, Pin #2 is brown ground wire.
Toyota sends the brown ground through serveal junctions and then to a ground point. You can do that or just must sure it is grounded on a good location and bypass as the factory junctions.

The blue signal wire goes into the AJ5 connectoer on Pin#10, the other side of Pin#10 will be a brown wire that goes to Pin#45 (CCS) on the engine control module. I would verify you do have the brown wire from AJ5 to the Engine ECU. It may need to be added as well.

This might help identify the brown wire in Pin #10.

This should be the side of the connector withe the brown #10 that goes to the Engine ECU. I think I got most the colors right to help identify pins.

Thank you!! I couldn’t find that diagram, that’s exactly the one I needed.

Done any more swappage on your truck? Or pretty much set where you like it?

Yeah AJ5 is in passenger kick panel, what do you need help with? Mine was depinned as well but it had a brown wire going from the other side of the connector to the ecu; that brown wire is the cruise wire

I tried splicing into the brown wire with my blue wire from j45 pin 1 and grounded pin 2 but nothing happened and now my 4x4 doesn’t work I think I’m better off sticking to mechanical parts. I don’t understand I followed the instructions to a tee and it still won’t work. I’m beginning to wonder if I received a faulty switch.

I’ll help you work through it this week; it took me a minute of combing over various instructions and wiring diagrams to make sure everything was right, as well as double checking the pinout on the ecu itself

for starters just undo whatever you’ve done so far (whatever wire you tapped into) and see if the 4x4 works

Oh, I guess as an update to this thread; yes I did get cruise control to work on a 2007 tundra (that was not prewired for cruise). It works great

Are you sure AJ5 is the connector you spliced into. AJ3(4WD) just below AJ5 has a blue wire.

Yes I spliced into the brown wire into pin 10 aj5 I did shove a stick through the hole behind the climate controls and 4wd to fish my transmitter wire and may have knocked something loose checking it now.
