This is probably one in a million chance. Never had mine fall off. You probably have to hit a speedbump really fast! Never had mind dance higher than couple inches maybe. Must've been one unlucky fella who actually lost one!

If I pick up 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock, I cannot close the tailgate, because of plastic bed liner. That's one quirk my 2nd gen has btw. I am short like one inch!

This is a weird post, are you worried the new tundra can't be your average weekend workhorse?

Anything with a longer wheel base will have a wider turn radius.

    Really? I'd never guess!

What i meant is newer models have worse turn radius.

Use mine for work all the time. Load it down with lumber, pallets of water, electrical conduit/ supplies, etc. I haven't hauled any mulch or landscaping stones yet, but I will soon enough.

How does multipoint linking suspension feel? I notice new tacomas have leaf springs, even though they extend practically all the way to the hitch, but tundras have a whole bunch of pulleys instead.

Naw, just another day in the life of an AV (audio video) guy....25 yrs in the biz
Installed over 5000 tvs & 20000 speakers with my hands
This batch of tvs was install at Canyon Club Brewery in danville ca this past January
If you're in the bay area, definitely check them out....great food, craft brew, & kick ass AV setup

The gen3 tundra is very capable & confident payload wise

Got the trucks about 3 weeks ago and got a few loads in. The truck feels awesome even loaded down. Hit maxed payload a few times and did not hit the bump-stop so far.

The truck squats a lot when maxed out but so far so good. It still feels planted and secured when going down the road at 105km/h (65mph). The roads are also super messed up around where I live so I was impressed by the suspension and how good it feels.

I'm worried about all those linkages at the back end. How they're going to hold up to many hauling stresses over the years. Perhaps it isn't such a big deal. Front end after all is the same way and is always fully loaded from the engine (and driver) weight.:notsure:

I had a 2011 4Runner for years and was running it over payload constantly. It only required the regular suspension maintenance. It does cost more to maintain than a leaf spring setup, but it’s not something that I would worry about.

I know the 4runner wasn’t a truck, but it had the same type of suspension as the current Tundra and Tacoma.

They are great. Good winter traction and good off road. Not the most quiet tire and they ride a bit more rough because they are 10 ply tires. But you can run them at high psi when doing work or towing. I love them.
