Out of curiosity, is that valve typically buried?

    None at this point.
We have a lot of that in South Texas...where it never freezes, until it does.
We came back from Jamaica one year to the Wife and I's first house only to see water running down the driveway.
Apparently it happened like two days after we left...and we were gone a week and a half.
I was highly pissed that my neighbors were to damn stupid to know the shut off valve was in a box right there next to the street.
All they had to do was pull the lid and put a crescent wrench on it to shut it off!!!
And I wasn't to happy with the water district either.
They knew damn good and well it was running and did nothing!!!

    Yeah it was!!
Especially since they run the water pipes in the attic in South Texas...because it never freezes here...until it does!!!
    Thank God for insurance!!
On the plus side we got all new carpet and new tile in the kitchen.
All and all a win all the way around.
Was kinda glad the neighbors didn't shut it off.

So when Hurricane Milton payed me a visit, he left me with this...

This is my RV garage (14'wx15hx42'l).. What's left of it...

    upload_2025-4-22_21-57-42.jpg

My Lawnmower shed... Which kinda was a blessing for it... It had a plywood floor/frame that was rotten... Didn't have a clue how I was gonna replace it with the shed sitting on it...

    upload_2025-4-22_21-58-17.jpg

    upload_2025-4-22_22-25-5.jpg
After about 5/6 months I finally got done putting it back together...

RV Garage got raised to 17'h... Taller door sure is nice ...

    upload_2025-4-22_22-5-36.jpg

New mower shed got a concrete floor this time and moved forward up even with the front of the RV garage

    upload_2025-4-22_22-7-18.jpg

This 20'x12' lean too I built with aluminum frame for pool cages... My neighbors pool cage got tore up but the main beams were still good... Gonna stack it full of Pecan wood under the lean to that I will use use in my smoker. Which you can see in this picture if you zoom in... 3 1/4 tons of white 57 lime rock.. Put out with a shovel...

    upload_2025-4-22_22-18-58.jpg

    Sorry about the long post...

So I was staining some cedar this morning for our project and I had it basically all spaced out and up at waist heigh on some horses/ osb board across it. One larger piece was too big to fit and I had to have it on the ground. Well my knees have been getting more sensitive to spending hours on hard surfaces and so I have a nice set of gel knee pads I've been using the last few years.

When I yelled out to my wife, asking her to get my knee pads, from the kitchen....well I had to take a second and just think about that. Half of me died laughing, and the other half just died

    All stained either way:thumbsup:

Originally when we built here, we enjoyed the hanging pendants. After a couple hurricanes, they swing too much and issues came up like the chain breaking and hanging by the wires. Swapped out to some high mounted ones. Wasn't too bad at all....especially for a guy that hates dealing with electrical.

Removed the old 4 bulb florescent light fixture and installed 5 6" can lights that have a night light mode. I will install the dimmer switch tomorrow.

I've never seen that night light mode before. That's really clever. Can you dim the night light as well as the main can?

I put one of these night mode ones in the kids bathroom and it’s pretty awesome. Perfect to just leave on all night.

Basement project, much needed shelving since we do not have an attic.
    Pervious owners paint EVERYTHING GREEN!
So here's the progress so far.
    Unwashed (filthy).

Washed and scrubbed with hot water and bleach 2/3 with a 2.5 gal. Sprayer.

    Painted with masonry paint

And the shelving starts, with much more to go,once it's done I have 3~ 4' leds that will go up.
