hello everyone! I am checking to see if anyone has had this issue before? This has been an intermittent issue for several weeks. The dealership blamed the battery, got a new battery now blaming new pioneer radio that has been in for 3 months with no issue until now. I greatly appreciate any possible Information!!

Did the dealership tell you why they thought it was the radio?

There is a plug from the radio going into the obd2 port. They said leave it unplugged and see what happens. The next day it went off again.

Have you checked the condition of the charging system? Auto parts store should be able to check it for you.

obvious first step it to check condition of grounding points and major connections…
    Ie alternator to battery.

All of that has been checked out and shown good by an auto parts store and dealership.

Sounds like need to start chasing the harness looking for connection issues. Could be a water ingress issue, pin tension issue, rodent damage…

Possibly find a better shop that can diagnose. The only code is related to voltage? Did it specify any module? (assuming ABS)

Oh, it’s a trailer brake issue. Makes sense why your dash wasn’t lit up. Check/clean the connector under the bumper where it goes into the 7pin connector. Shop couldn’t diagnose this? I’d def be looking elsewhere for service.

it’s giving this code when no trailer is connected, correct?

You should not be seeing that error unless there’s a trailer connected. It sounds like you have an intermittent short, probably water ingress/corrosion at the trailer connector fooling the controller into thinking there is a trailer connected, and a low voltage (because of high resistance) fault.

Eliminate the easy stuff: clean inspect the connections and the harnesses going to the trailer connector. If the fault returns, disconnect the harness and bag the end to determine if there’s a fault with the trailer connector or the harness. Go from there.
