5.7 motor mounts

He is a one man shop and his communications are not the best but he comes around. With T-day just passed I am sure the Holidays made an impact

Just logged in, been a minute. I got absolutely slammed with desert season orders in October and November, it was wild.

I had previously contacted Desertundra16 in the PM's and provided him with the at the time shipping status, but I just DM'd him on here with the most current info(parts delivered on 11/27) With this forum, the website emails, social media, etc it can get confusing on who I have actually replied to and sifting through the various screen names and correspondence chains. I do the best to keep it all straight but sometimes I may drop the ball

I did lose around a week of work in November do to my welder going down - had to order a whole new unit, so that sucked. But back up and running at full speed now.

I check the forum the least, because it isn't really a phone friendly platform to randomly pull up easily like Instagram.

 

How long does it usually take to receive them once ordered? I ordered mine on May 17th. I'm not in a rush, but I like to set my expectations.

 

I have been running around a month of backlog due to a busier than expected spring/early summer volume of orders. As of now, everything that has been ordered prior to 6/6/24 has shipped.

Definitely appreciate everyone's patience!

Update on transmission mount?

 

Finally catching up on all these production orders that Ive been buried under since November. You guys will have the 5.7 trans mount in March, thats the plan. I have finalized the kit pieces with my laser cutter/CNC shop. There will be a multi-bend plate as part of the kit that we had to get the degrees correct, took some back and forth

Yep, once you guys install it and provide me with feedback/suggestions/hate mail then I will be able to put it up on the website with confidence. I always like to test a new product on 2 separate trucks, if I'm not personally installing it. That way I can get a broader range of variables accounted for.

That being said, I 100% believe it will bolt in no issues.

 

Laser cutter has all the prototype steel parts and is currently programming the files for the production cuts. I expect to have the first few kits next week.

 

Hoping to get the first trans mt kit this week, talking to my laser cutter last week that was the vibe.

 

If you don’t mind, let me know as soon as you have one ready/available. I’m shearing the motor mount bolts off due to front to back movement.

 

Is your OE trans mount completely smoked?

 

No, nothing wrong with the transmission mount. Truck has 35k miles, it is only used for off-road trips though.

 

I’ll be ready for one of these.

 

Update - still waiting for the 1st kit, talked to my guy yesterday he said next few days he will have it ready to ship. He made it sound like all the parts were bent and he was just checking them against the tooling/sample parts so hopefully soon!

He's a fairly big aerospace parts manufacturer so definitely gets busy from time to time. I'll keep bugging him

Ok, got the 2 kits FINALLY

Sidney/Oscar - who can install this the quickest so I can get a fitment confirmation? Id like to send one out, make sure it fits before I weld the second one up just in case there are some minor clearance issues with the geometry that I can modify before welding up the 2nd one.

 

@snivilous has my truck on a rack shortly and can check fitment if needed.

 

How long is it going to be in the shop? Ill try to get one welded and sent out by the end of the week if that works.

 

I'm not really sure how fast I could get to installing it at the moment. Maybe @SAGE63 could get to it a lot faster than I could.

 

Itll be there awhile getting a bunch of stuff.

 

I know I didn't jump on the trans mounts a while back but I'd be up for one, if available. Can install upon arrival or whatever...

First welded up prototype.

Tolerances are TIGHT. I really do not like the OE design Toyota came up with, zero room for error due to how compact & close everything has to be. The transmission housing is like millimeters away from the actual mount in some areas. One of the more difficult parts I've reverse-engineered. That being said, I have high confidence it will bolt, up barring some casting rib on the housing I'm not aware of that will interfere somehow.

So, who wants to bolt this one in?

 

I can get it installed and cruise it but I don't offroad hard-core. Just some logging roads etc. If @reywcms doesn't I'll bite.
