    New Tundra
    New Ford 150
    New ford f250
    I pull 8800 lbs camper
4-10 times a year some local and some time 10 hr trips or less
    Ford will be a 5.0 v8 or the 6.8 v8
    Or just a
Crew max 6.5 ft bed tundra
I can get any option with a lifetime powertrain warrenty
    Thank you for the help.

IME, your chances of getting 365K out of a Ford product are pretty slim, and a 3/4 ton is overkill for towing every 2 months or so.

If I were pulling 8800 lbs regularly I would be looking at a heavy duty truck, not a half ton. Reliability is usually better in the HD trucks as well.

    Wouldn't touch a diesel.

I have a 5.0 F150 and the engine is great. It's everything else around it I have doubts about. Built quality is mediocre at best and Ford is slow as shit to resolve issues.

I'd suggest the gasser F250, but man, the fuel is going to be expensive.

    I've had great luck with a 2016 F250 and a 2017 F150 as far as no repairs, 100k on the F250 and 200k on the F150 (V6 no turbo) Can't speak for the big 6.8 V8 though.

As Godzilla said, no-go on a diesel.

Almost 400k on the 5.7... would you consider a used later model Tundra?

I have looked for one with no luck.
When I find one it will have to services history lots of them people don't service them or at least there is no record of any services history. Not getting to talk with the owner and taking a dealers word for something. I might as well put a mouse trap in my pants.

I'm pretty sure your not getting that out of a new turbo engine. To much pressure over time.

Everything I'm reading it will be the same as my Tundra 2011 5.7 13 in the city and 17 highway.

What does a new headgasket run to get fixed? Is it more expensive than a new vehicle? I don't think it would be. But if you're really wanting a new truck (I COMPLETELY understand this) why not look at a new to you Tundra? My 2014 had a touch over 150K and is running GREAT!! Why not look at some of those instead of a new new truck? Or is that what you meant, new to you? Still, I would stay away from everything but Toyota. I have a good friend with an F250 and seems about every month he has something that needs fixed.
Update: Friend got rid of his F250. I asked him why and he said it had too many issues and was nickle and diming him to death. I hope his new truck (Dodge 2500) does better for him but I'm not holding my breath. I've heard (and I think it's been mentioned in this thread that the HD trucks are "better built" than the others.) that they're a higher quality. Time will tell. Toyota needs to produce a HD truck.
