    @ChalkyDC

    I had zero issues with 16x8 4.5 backspace wheel on my 06 dc, 0 offset 285/75/16 general grabber x3’s (labeled mud terrain but closer to a hybrid imo). Leveled with coilovers and new total chaos Uca’s.

    my wife’s 1st gen sequoia ran a set of 17x8.5 kmc technics (4.75 backspace w/ 0 offset) with 275/70/17 falken wildpeak at3s. This setup had a small amount of frame rub. Had a leveling kit to start with but was later swapped for a set of coilovers and new total chaos uca’s.

    im currently running the same setup I mention above on my 06 double cab plus 1.25 spidertrax wheel spacers. Front bumper has been trimmed to clear and the pinch welds have been cut and flattened. Truck has no issues off-road

    With everything you've told me on top of the even more digging I've been doing, I think I'm going to pass on the 285s. Looking more at my truck since the alignment and knowing it still needs a rack since the inner tie rod is bent, just doesn't seem worth it. The ad said the set had about 600 miles on them and by the pictures they look it. Also I've never been a fan of falken tires. With everything I've read? Either going with your suggestion of 275/70/17 or try 255/75/17 seems like a better option for a truck I'll drive on a regular basis.
    I do really like those wheels! The setup on marketplace was $1900 and I didn't really want to go much higher. But it would be better to start with a setup that will 100% work rather than hoping it works. Clearly that hasn't worked so far!

    again, sorry about that. Should've been more specific. It is the turbomac hd classics in bronze

    I think if I end up keeping the truck longer I'll start looking at aftermarket suspension components. Possibly that will ease a lot of my worries. I should've done that when I had the suspension done, but with the frame work I had to do, I wanted to make sure the truck would even take an alignment before dumping a bunch into upgraded parts.
