I found a new set of JBA longtube headers for my 2000 tundra. From my understanding they don’t make these anymore.

I’m debating the purchase but after much research can’t find if people love them? Hate them ? Experience problems ? Reviews. Is there a long term review of headers on here ?

Is the install a pain ?

    Thanks in advance

I don’t have any experience with JBA long tube headers on my tundra, but I put them on my 05 Nissan titan and had no complaints. Sounded amazing and with a tune definitely improved performance. I know install is challenging because things are so tight, not hard just tough to get to all the bolts, but for a 2000 it may be easier.

Well I guess one way or another I’ll add the headers. But the guy wants 1000! For the long tubes. I feel like I can get the shorties and installed for less. Didn’t know if the discontinued models were worth grabbing in a hurry

Well nothing is making me do this. I don’t notice any kind of leak as of yet. Is it best to avoid this mod ?

Only you can answer that. Is a few horsepower and a little more low-end torque worth the hassle to you?

A few folks on here have been there, done that. @FrenchToasty and @455h0le_dachshund, and possibly @BluegrapeVr6?

I only did mine on my titan since my one cat was bad. Figured I’d just do the headers, delete the first set of cats and it actually was cheaper at the time to go that route.

They are a lot of work, requiring a lot of custom modifications, and the never ending CEL issue. So be ready to spend some money if you aren’t doing it yourself, remflex gaskets are the only head flange gasket I’d recommend
@Spread5150 ive done headers, and gears; much more noticeable and usable power came from gears

I have a pair but waiting for stock mani's to leak before I bother with installation. The JBA headers have good O2 sensor placement and even without tune your not going to lose power. There is a lot of buy-in though. Redoing heat shields, very few tuning options for pre-vvti trucks. For the money I would go 4.30 or whatever is good for your tire set-up. Or a rear locker.
