    Not exactly sure how this applies to Shinedown, my nephew Brad Stewart or if you are just speaking in generalities. I've broke bread and spent time with Brent Smith and the original Shinedown lineup a lot years ago but I don't know their political views as they never espoused them to me. I don't know of any recent statements from them, but then I don't follow them, and I haven't been to one of their shows in years as Brad moved on to other bands. I still enjoy their music.

    Music is expression of life. Music is political, if it's done right. Like it or not.

    I was speaking in generalities, and I have not heard anyone from Shinedown say anything political yet.

    And I hope I never do

    There are some musicians who feel it necessary to sway their audience in one direction or another, during their performance, making a night of expressiion and joy for the attendees, something it shouldnt be.

    I love to listen to Brent's voice, belting them out, and I'm not interested in hearing any musician (especially someone I have immense admiration for) push an agenda, one side or the other. My statement was "hope" that their shows do not come to this, as other shows, and my friends who've attended concerts where it happens.

    Rod Stewart went off on a tangent mid point of his concert, and my buddy, his wife and friends, plus about 1/3rd of the audience walked out. I wasnt there, but I got the phone call, how mad they were.

    If I go to a concert, I'm there to escape this stupidity, division, and manipulated hate we are all subect to.

    I could listen to the hundred shinedown tunes on my phone in a constant loop for days, and it never gets old. That is such a rarity, and a gift to the world as a whole
