I just watched a Tundra Dude video and there was comments that the exhaust didn’t work with the power bed step. I kept the exhaust from my old truck but was waiting for warmer weather to install on my new truck that now has power step. Does anyone have that set up or am I wasting my time?

Did you ever give this a go? Any feedback? I was thinking about getting the TRD exhaust, but have the power bed step...

It will work. You just need to bend one of the exhaust hangers. This has been discussed before.

So I did install it this morning, it’s very close. I slightly adjusted the hanger on the pipe to try and lower the pipe a tad. I think if I do both hangers on the pipe a little more it will be better. The step works fine but it does nick the pipe when opens and closes but doesn’t affect operation. I’ll post some pics later

So when the exhaust gets hot it definitely expands or moves and gets closer to the step. Sometimes when I close the gate the step pops back out. I tried adjusting the hangers and that didn’t really help. Also when I hit a good bump sometimes I hear a rattle. Today I picked up a propane style torch, I think it said “map” style. Takes a few seconds but it got it red hot and started hitting it with a hammer. Put a dent at the contact spots so I’ll let you know how it makes out. If this doesn’t work I might put the stock back on. The sound difference is slightly better and the look is better.

Love the look but would hate the rattle.. the new TRD Pro axel back looks nice, but it’s like triple the price.

That is the TRD Performance Exhaust. It is not the same as the TRD Dual-tip Exhaust that comes on the TRD Rally and TRD Pro.

Yeah that one! I like the looks of it and it would most likely work with the bed step
