Those are the wrong tires for long commutes. Those knobbys will wear considerably faster and at the same time produce less gas mileage. Narrow highway tires will run quieter, and have less rolling resistance for long commutes giving you better mileage. Before I would consider another vehicle I would shop Facebook Marketplace for a set of highway tires already mounted on Toyota rims. Swap them on and inflate them to the max recommended pressure to minimize rolling resistance and you're good to go.

I'm so tired of windows. If I wasn't computer illiterate I'd switch to Linux.

Yeah, I'm having to deal with this w/MIL right now. She's so computer illiterate that doing something like changing the start menu, for example, will really screw her up. I'm going to need to make a decision soon though. They'll only give out free licenses for so long ...

You don't need to be a super-genius to use Linux. Ubuntu is pretty damn easy these days, and some Ubuntu variants like Xubuntu have easier-to-use GUIs if you're a Windows person. You will absolutely hit snags and such along the way - drivers that don't work, software you need to repair or packages you can't find, compatibility, etc. - it happens, especially with drivers and hardware support and such. It's almost like king crab legs, it's an OS you have to be willing to work at to get the full experience.

If you do end up going Ubuntu, make sure you get one of the LTS releases (Long Term Support), it'll have more longevity than others. The OS has come in leaps and bounds, and Ubuntu as a release has stuck around far longer than many others. I think Mint is potentially ending in the next year or two, CentOS is gone, Mandriva is gone.

Deepin looked promising, the GUI is really nice, reminiscent of MacOS, but ... it's a Chinese release, so it probably has PRC backdoors in it.

Drive the truck! I bought my LS430 because I needed another car, but I still take my truck on 800+ mi round trips and it's my daily driver for half of the year. As I'm sure you know, mileage doesn't kill our Tundras, lack of maintenance does. If you just stay on top of fluid changes, filter changes, tire rotations, etc, I'm sure you could keep your truck super nice.

That said- if you're ever in the market for a Lexus LS430, let me know. I'll send you the buyer's guide...

this is the way I think. I’ve done lbj’s, tb and wp, radiator, trans and diff service, plugs. She’s got 166k and runs like a dream. And absolutely rust free not even a spec of surface rust on the frame.

I got a good deal on them from discount tire. Someone bought them and never came to get them installed. They were cheap enough to take a chance on for awhile. I still get 16 ish mpg. So not terrible

Waiting on some sound proofing to come in so haven’t installed them yet. My passenger speaker is blown so I’m sure they’ll be a big improvement. I'll report back though and see how they do.

This one works great but no longer available though plenty like it...and can work for alignments.
