Done early with work today so I came home, got the raft out of storage and inflated. Getting a jump on tomorrow's storm.

Pretty close to correct except must be at least 10 and preferably 20 pine/fir wooded acres to be farther away and isolated from people. No pool required.

    *Pool maintenance is the exception.

I want a desert xeriscape property.

I have a lot of property right now that requires a ton of my time and energy. Not bitching cuz i know people would kill to have what I have.
I just don't want that in retirement

The new Subaru outback wilderness is so ugly I had to double check that it wasn't April 1st....... I consider the generation that I had to be one of the coolest wagons ever made and this new one is legitimately disgusting.

Run through your phone features to see if you have a long exposure option, and get some way to prop up your phone so you're not holding it.

I have almost no property right now and hate maintaining it. In retirement I just plan to buy a tractor with a mower attachment to run once every few weeks. And I've been instructed a pool is mandatory too...

I have that minus the pool (for now) and the zero mx. We decided to leave the landscape natural which cuts down the mx a ton, but we still have to mow. But, we are in Florida... I am sure being in other states that are more desert would be much easier.

That was propped up with night site on. He is on tripod with night site... I will try star settings in the future.

    Not a bad plan.

I've got a tractor/mower for my field but my biggest issue is the sloped transition from the gravel driveway to my fields. There's like 2-3 feet of rock on both sides that I can't mow, the weeds thrive.

My driveway is roughly 800' long so that's 1600' of spraying/ string trimmer time and money.

Asphalt and some grading would be ideal but that's big money, I'm guessing $50-70k.

I realize how whiny this sounds. :sorry:

    Not whining… just talking.

The layout of the landscape and everything will play a factor. But easy and low maintenance are key.

    Definitely.

I can fix the maintenance time and money suck over time, with time and money

But at the end of the day, I'm still under the blue thumb of WA.
