Transmission cooler install help

That's a good deal. I got quoted over $800 at a local shop in Tucson.

 

How long ago did you have it installed?

 

Earlier this year.

 

I found one quote locally for $1,100. Check around with other shops and let them know the estimate Genuine Cooling gives. Which iirc is 90 min to two hours for experienced installers. Have them watch the install video and that should help. I am guessing most shops would have it done in 3 hours or less the first time.

 

$400 seems high to me, and $800 is... "Idontwannadoit" priced.

For me, $400 was a bargain. I don’t have the time, tools, place or inclination to tackle it myself. I’d have had to take to my sil at his farm to have access to a pit and shop, then hope I could do it in a day lol.

I would imagine if had a local Tundra group that you could find someone to help you fairly easy.

 

Here's a quote from a local Toyota dealer, Precision Toyota in Tucson. They have pretty good reputation, so not some crappy dealership. But this is pretty crazy. I just received this less than an hour ago.

All in, it took me 5 hours to install mine. I accidentally knocked over a bottle of ATF which didn’t help. $400 sounds like a good deal to me. 2-3 hours is for someone who knows what they are doing, doesn’t have to look anything up and has good tool organization.

Me in the other hand, I got to look everything up and my kids keep playing with my ratchet wrenches, all my 10mm’s grew legs and I’m running to the dealership for more ATF WS.

I wouldn’t be opposed to meeting up with members who have the knowledge to do it too. Guide me through the process.
