Is anyone currently running the RCI Arapaho bumper? Was looking at getting on on my rig but seeing if anyone has any input good or bad about it. I know RCI has a good reputation with there armor, just not sure about this bumper model. Any other suggestions? Trying to keep the weight down with some front end/ radiator protection.

I'm waiting to see how the hoop works with the pro grill sensors. i offered to let them use mine but they already had someone lined up for the first week of January. haven't seen the results of the testing

    Alot of them
RCI is very new to making bumpers so there most likely isn't anyone here in the forum that has tried one yet.

why no hoop? I currently have a full wrap around front bumper with head light and grill coverage and this thing is heavy! Trying to lighten up the load with some protection.

I'd suggest comparing the weight to stock weight. If there's a significant difference, check out the mounting location. Some heavy aftermarket bumpers only mount to the stock location directly at the end of the truck frame rails. Later after much stress, the plates begin to tear away from the frame rails. In the case of my heavy Ranchhand, it has bracketry that mounts to 3 locations, side of frame rail, front of frame rail, and the bottom of the frame rail. Aside from that, I like the version with the hoop. Good luck!

gotcha. In South Central Texas where I live there are an abundance of deer so made me want some type of front end protection.

I will do some research on the stock bumper weight. My current one has the plates that mount to the bumper and then the frame.

Another option would be additional custom brackets, might even be able to modify what you currently have.

I do like the Ironman bumper. Just think I want something with more protection in front for deer, hogs and other larger animals in South Texas. But Im sure the Iron Man will hold up fine to a deer strike.

If you haven't already looked into it, a brake upgrade can also be beneficial for wildlife damage protection. Alcon is the best kit out there and there's no reasonable comparison, but it's not cheap. Just something else to consider and benefit from.

Well I contacted RCI and the Smackaho front bumper series isn't coming out for some time total bummer. So I purchased the Arapaho bumper instead. Will do a write up once it arrives and is mounted.

What was the weight of the stock bumper? I believe the Iron Man is 123# or something like that?

Indeed. How much is the stock bumper?? When I was moving it around it felt MUCH lighter than 123lbs.

I like the look of this bumper but it appears that a 30” light bar would be partially obscured since the opening isn’t continuous. This seems different to other manufacturers.

Anyone seeing this as a potential problem?

I noticed this also. Could be an easy fix with an angle grinder if it's a issue. For me I don't see it as one as the light bar will not be used much.

    You get this installed yet?

I was in contact with RCI sales last week and they said lead times are 4-6 weeks right now. They have a couple promos running right now that would allow me to get the bumper, engine skid, trans skid, and cat guards for under $2k. Tempting…

I just ordered one of these bumpers with a 30" DD light bar. I also got the RCI skid package to replace my completely destroyed factory splash guard.

Looking forward to getting some more chrome off this truck!
