    Marvelous find!

Amazing isn't it? How little we know of our grand folks and that golden era... I also learned more about my grandfather after he died. He was a great man when he was alive but, afterwards he became legendary to me. He was another veteran (Navy) in Korea. Never talked about it. My father was in Nam (Navy) so it's only natural that I enlisted. Dad was on one of the two carriers that sustained casualties from an accidental fire on deck.

Thank you for sharing OP. As a Marine vet and the grandson and grand nephew of Imperial Japanese Army and Navy officers, these images brought tears to my eyes. My brother-in-arms and blood relatives shed blood and lives for their nations so this period of history hits twice as hard.

Crazy how times changed ... my grandfather on my mom's side (who I never met) was in the Luftwaffe, and was shot down over Poland. Dad was in the Army and met mom in Berlin mid 50's. Dad did two tours in Vietnam and passed in 2020. RIP dad.

Whoa, your dad meeting mom story is just like my HS buddy's parents. His dad was serving in the US Army and met his mom in West Germany around the 50's. Mom's father served in the Wehrmacht during WW2, survived and worked rebuilding Germany as a civil engineer. His dad brought his new bride back to the US and worked as aerospace engineer. My buddy also served in the USMC and later as a LA Deputy Sheriff.

Pouring one out for your dad. RIP sir.

Is the Tok a war trophy?

Outstanding! Those war trophy forms were made out of tissue grade paper so they turned into dust. As a C&R collector, owning matching trophy and docs is a super rare unicorn.
